Rezension bezieht sich auf: Matched (Taschenbuch)
So, in my brief but lovely blogging experience, I have heard many other bloggers compare new dystopians to Matched, but I had never really gotten around to reading the entire book. In fact, I read the first chapter in my local library a few months ago and I didn't like it at all. Still, I bought it. Why? Because it's easily one of the books most new dystopian books are compared to. So I had to read it, and the book in my library was borrowed for weeks in advance - which also lead me to believe many people like it.
I had no idea how great it would be. True, I still don't like the first two or three chapters, they are just not my cup of tea. Something about the writing seems off to me. But the story, the plot, the characters, the setting, everything is just simply breathtaking - and not always in the obvious way.
Cassia underwent an enormous mental transformation, something that is rarely seen in YA fiction, I believe. She was very likeable and while I myself probably would not have been brave enough to make the choices she made, I found her reasoning believable and quite heroic.
I'm defintiely looking forward to the sequel, Crossed, which is out now!
