This has to be the best vegetarian book I have ever come across in 'my many years'. Right off, I am not a vegetarian, but that is of no importance, as in most recipe books vegetables are treated rather as decoration on the plate and generally rather tasteless. Over the years a large portion of my recipe books and internet searches have been for good vegetable recipes, because when they are good they become a celebration.
That is what this book is a celebration from beginning to end, the recipes are delicious and they are open to change and personal interpretation.
It was during one of my frustrated searches for vegetable recipes that I discovered Yotam Ottolenghi recipes in the Guardian and became the delight owner of his book, with each recipe as exciting as the next.
This book is no let down as so many tend to be ..... i.e. 'the best of the book is on the cover' and the rest is lousy.
