A Masterpiece !

Rezension bezieht sich auf: High Performance - Snowflakes Are Dancing (Debusssy Electronical Performed By Tomita 1973-1974) (Audio CD)
In the middle of the 1970's I had a night job as a janitor, cleaning a Junior High school building. A large portion of my time was consumed cleaning the library, which had a fantastic giant old, amazing sounding, tube radio. One particular ice cold winter night, as a Northeaster snow storm was raging outside, THIS MUSIC came over that old radio. (Those New York radio stations played some GOOD STUFF back then!!!)...and I was stunned.
The feeling was somewhere between having a heavy LSD flashback, or being taken captive by Aliens; or maybe,... having an LSD flashback WHILE being taken captive by Aliens.
The music really took me SOMEWHERE ELSE.
I turned the radio up all the way and the dark hallways reverberated with this amazing sound as the snowflakes danced outside, splattering against the windowpanes. It was really like being on a spaceship going to another world.
(Probably forgot to empty the waste bins that night.)
Tomita is up there with Walter/Wendy Carlos as one of the great Moog Pioneers and what Carlos did with Bach, Tomita does with Debussy on this classic CD.
Electronic Impressionism from Japan.
This is Zen meets Monet meets Moog, and it is a so-called "High Performance" audiophile recording which has been wonderfully re-mastered by RCA and also contains as a bonus Debussy's "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun" which was recorded in 1975, one year after the main section of this "Snowflakes are Dancing" CD, which was recorded in 1973/74, as one can read oneself in the informative enclosed booklet.
This music STILL takes me SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Somewhere I love to be.
A 5 Star, Starry Masterpiece!
