I've been a fan of Mel Odom's since I read a title he wrote for the Executioner series, called "Crimson Tide." (No relation to the movie.) Then, I read his novelization of "Blade" which was wonderful; the dedication page alone is worth the price of the book. So I was quite excited when I found e had written a Buffy book. The book at first seemed ho-hum to me, although I have to hand it to him, he's got the characterization down pat...even Willow, which for my money seems to be the trickiest for novel-writers to get right. But then the faeries were introduced, and I'm a sucker for faeries. I will read anything I can get my paws on if it has to do with fairies (Faeries, Fairies...). That said, I'm looking forward to reading "Child of the Hunt." But I digress... Once things really got rolling, the book was great. I really hope Mr. Odom will eventually write an "adult" Buffy novel. That said, I'll read with pleasure anything else he writes in the Buffyverse. Good work, Mel!
