Emma Kirkby is one of those rare voices that has kept a touch of the nature-tone. Something only produced by the utterly talented. It is something that seems to thrill trough the sounds and touches the listener on levels beyond the ear. Her voice is like the balsem for the deep sorrow that is the leading theme of this piece. I deeply enjoyed this voice in her interpretation of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas the best and here it happens again. What a gift! But ofcourse the Stabat Mater is a piece of music that must be heard live at any occasion passing-by..
