This story is a major rehash of Wuthering Heights. There are no new ideas, and March, the lead female character, is weak and unbelievably lame. This book is further evidence that classic stories, like Wuthering Heights, should be left alone and not re-written, or you run into the danger of having a book like Here on Earth that offers nothing new. Why read Here on Earth when you can read Wuthering Heights, which is the same story, but is much more memorable and thus a far better read? Oprah, what were you thinking?
