Good book, but I've seen this story already...,
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Anansi Boys (Taschenbuch)
Not having read very many Gaiman books before (except the classics 'Neverwhere' and 'Agnes Nutter' with T. Pratchett) the characters and the story seemed familiar. You have a guy that grows into the role of a god, a circle of witches, a family reunion and some pretty heavy bad guys. You can see all this in other novels by Pratchett, Adams and Gaiman himself.
Nonetheless the book is very amusing with it's linguistic jokes, funny/satiric comments on everyday situations and the main character stumbling into standard slapstick situations.
The character development is very good as you can practically see Fat Charlie growing with his problems, the pace of the story is good as it never gets boring and the reader is not swept away.
Overall it's a very good and enjoyable book. Four out of five stars only because of the well-known storyline.
