Popular science, rather correct,

(I'm sorry, my English is better). When comparing the German (or better European) and US comments on this book, I must say, the boys on the other side of the pond are very religious. It seems, they want to hang on to the bible's way of explaining our creation. Most people on the continent don't understand this. The Americans have the same problem vice-versa.
Are we in a grid-lock? No. We must understand first that Darwinism is a protest (just like Maarten Luther) against conventional thinking. Religion dominated our knowledge for centuries and Darwin like Dawkins opposes this view. That is why these books often read as a Bob Dylan protest song. On the other hand, evolution is not simple. Most books on the subject are difficult and there is a need to get lots of people in on the subject. That is why they call it popular science. It will not be written in full detail, it will present difficult theories in easier models. This clears up the third point: it cannot be absolutely right. Models are general and it can't be 100%.
I personally think, Dawkins has made a correct statement in bringing the evolution theory one step closer to laymans. We can grasp his theories quickly without too much formula stuff.
Whether you agree with the evolution theory or not, the information is laid out more clearly and anybody can understand it.
Personally, I'm an evolutionist and Dawkins' books are on the right track. There are other readings - also called popular science - who continue at the same pace. They may divert a little, putting Dawkins mostly in the extremist Darwinism corner. But still, his explanations are the basis of what we define as evolution theory.
A MUST-READ for anyone interesting in evolutionary science.
