I would choose "I love it." with 5 stars but it's very noisy! I also read the comments that the controller is not well made and breaks. I'm a seasoned "gamer" of Amiga computers. I wanted this for my Amiga 4000T and Desktop personal computers as well as WinUAE. The controller responds very well, and for the few days I've been using it it's functioning very well. I've not heard or felt any signs that it might have a challenge. I haven't unscrewed it to check the componants as I want to keep it in it's original condition for now.
I hold Atarti Joysicks with both hands with left hand's thumb on the Fire Button and the right hand's thumb on the very top of the stick. When I discovered that in the 80's, vs fingers gripped around the stick I notice it was much easier to control with and became my favorite Joystick. With reading some of the reviews and looking at the picture...I wasn't sure it would fit or feel like an original Atari Joystick. It Does!!
WOW, the clicking sounds are LOUD. I have to up the volume on my HDTV (Amiga looks Sweet that way!) to be able to hear the Game's sound effects. None of my original Atari Joysticks where ever this loud. I still have some of them, and if it continues to function well I might take the part out that makes the connections and replace that broken part in my originals. For now, though, I'm going to continue to use it as per normal. I read a couple reviews that said it broke within a couple days to a week. I'm very aware of how much pressure I use with these. I might lean my body or my hands when playing when I get into a game but I never overly force the controller as, logically, it wouldn't make any difference how much you PUSH left, right, etc...it's still just a direction. So I'm not forceful with Joysticks, I know how to care about items.
11$ is a little high BUT if this continues to function well past a month (and I have strong positive thoughts that it will) then I'll remove "stick" part and place it into an original QUIET controller.
I've been playing "The Unusual Case of Doctor Strange", "T-0", Deluxe Galaga, and some others that require a bit more movement in all directions very frequently. As well as Rocket Ranger. If it continues to do well, past a month, I might order another one and just replace the Stick part for quieter connections. I hope the makers of this read these reviews. It's sweet to feel the connection happening, but you could make the connectors on the circuit board a little less stiff thus reducing the CLICK. Otherwise, so far I like it a lot.
I'll update this review after a while with progress.
Update: 7/17/2016. So far it's still functioning very well with my Amiga 4000 Desktop and Amiga 4000T. Not any signs of breaking, but still very noisy clicks when moved. I'm going to order another.
Update: 7/19/2016. I didn't order another, yet. It broke after careful use. I've since glued the broken parts back together and shall continue to use it. But, it's not a quality product when it comes to the handle part that make connections with the Circuit board. I'm considering adding some padding between the "joystick" and Pads on the board to check if that'll lower the loud clicking. But if this continues to break in other areas, then I won't get another. If it holds for a while, I probbably will. 11$ is a bit pricey. I've lowered my rating because of this break. My Original Atari Joysticks are still opperating fine.
Update 1/15/2017, I've done some stuff with it, but I'm done...I've gotten in contact with an Atari joystick (as well as others) makers, and should get some qualiy stuff that way. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS MAKER! The black handle/boot in 1 are very stiff and break easily. I mean..they do not withstand calm playing past a month. I repeat, I am not "hard" on Joystyicks. The makers of this need to rethink their handle AND the board, it should click this loud! I don't "hate" the product, but 1 star is what it deserves
