My oh my, I really can't seem to get any chores done since starting the Laurel Heights series.. This is book no.4 and it I am still awestruck by Ms Perry's way of telling stories.
It gets you hooked right away and you won't be able to put the book aside until you finished the last page of it. Gwendolyn Pierce is an eccentric and very special individualist who makes gourd art and you will already recognize her and Rick from the previous books. She is keeping a big secret from all of her friends, but doing a private investigator does not seem like the best way to hide anything, especially not anything that major. Since the sparks were already obvious in the previous books this story seemed to develop even quicker than the ones before, which is just perfect since that leaves lots of room for hot and steamy scenes that will keep you warm at night or make you smile like a fool when reading in public ;-) I don't even want to start thinking about what people must have thought of me sitting in the train grinning like a lunatic and even laughing out loud at times. Ms Perry just has her way of lighting up your days and nights with her much too short stories with characters you have to love and storylines that won't exactly surprise you but make you feel good and never disappoint you! Another big recommendation for rainy days without any plans (that you would have to postpone anyways after picking up this masterpiece of contemporary romance)
Interessant geschrieben, aber leider ein sehr abrupter, schneller Schluss. Wäre interessant zu wissen, wie es mit der Familie weitergeht, d. h. es bleiben viele Fragen offen, die man in einem zweiten Teil beantworten könnte.
