Is there an alien connection with the lost city of Atlantis? How does the ancient city in Cambodia of Angkor Kel fit in? This exciting novel penned by the author of many names(Bob Mayer aka Greg Donegan here!) is the start of a new series and attempts to answer these questions, among many more about the world's mysteries. In the story, which begins with aircraft disappearing in the Bermuda Triangle in 1945 and then a strange alien encounter with a special forces unit despatched to Angkor Kel to recover a crashed reconnaissance aircraft occurs during the Vietnam war. Move forward to the present. Another plane, a privately-owned geological survey jet, crashes in the same spot. As communications are blacked out by strange signals, a special forces unit led by Eric Dane, survivor of the Vietnam encounter is sent there by the President. Not only that, signals are being bounced off satellites all round the globe which arer believed to be too advanced for human technology! Military action buffs and sci-fi fans will love this introductory novel to a new series, and to those who gave it one star, give it a chance. The prose is easy reading, the narrative fast-paced and the technologies are explained in the least amount of detail so as anybody can understand, which in this type of novel is fine. And this comes highly recommended.

This book was good and easy to read, but frankly, at the end I felt somewhat cheated, unfullfilled. It had a great idea and some good characters, but the characters don't seem to mesh together much. I did not know that this was the 1st of a series, so maybe they are developing slowly. Some of the strange 'things' were not explained enough to keep you completely hooked for the next book, he should have gave you more insight as to these strange and oh-so-different phenomenons. The strange beams of light compared to strange beasts didn't seem like they fit together in the same storyline to me and I wanted some kind of explanation or closure and did not get it. So that is why I felt sort of cheated at the end. I don't mind series, but you should solve or explain some of the riddle to keep the readers coming back for more instead of no explanation at all, right? I might give the next one a try though if it sounds good or you Amazon.com readers rate it well.

This book was one of the worst books I have ever read. No. I take that back. It was THE worst I have ever read. The plot was predictable, except for the addition of some random nonsense. I noticed numerous distracting errors while reading it, and while I am no English teacher, they were bothersome, and surprising for an apparently well-published book. The story was unengaging, and though the premise was good, and bore the makings of a great story, (Atlantis, Aliens, and Asia - how can it get better?) the author managed to slaughter it by turning the whole thing into an overly-dramatized, yet boring story. An unfortunate occurrence. The characters were inhuman, and their dialogue unreal. I would not under any circumstances recommend this book, and although the cover boasts a quote that says, "You'll wonder if it could be real," I saw nothing realistic about the writing here.

I'm not much for historical fiction or sci-fi, so I hesitated before plunking down a five-spot for this book. Foolish me. I don't know who Greg Donegan is or where he is from, or even if this book ever came out in hard back, but it certainly deserves more acclaim than it's apparently gotten. If you believe or are willing to consider the possibility that there is much more "out there" than is dreamt of in our philosophies, suspend your disbelief for a few hours and plunge into Atlantis. Donegan weaves just enough real life references into his work to make you review what you know about satellites and resolve to read the news more carefully. A sequel? We can only hope. A movie would be even better. Much more enjoyable than 9/10s of the books I've devoured so far in this hot summer. Thank you, Greg Donegan, wherever you are. Keep 'em coming.

I found this book interesting and fun to read. The characters in the book are original and the plot is quite unique. I have not read any other books by this author or under his other penname. But I will be looking for future works by him. The unique twist of old time myths and modern day technology make this a fascinating tale and quick exciting read. It has good visualization and does not dwell in great amounts of detail. I read some of the other comments from readers and must say 2 things. I agree somewhat about the ending being somewhat disappointing, although if he is planning a sequel he did leave the reader thirsting for more and I wish the book had been a bit longer. I disagree though with the people that felt it was unimaginative and trite. Oh well, to each his own. Great book,I recommend it heartily.

I thoroughly enjoyed this new series from the author of "Area 51". He smoothly blends history's most intreguing true life mysteries adding his own immaginative twists. With the depth of detail Greg writes with, you feel you "know" the characters, without having to read a dozen paragraphs describing the buttons on a character's shirt. I was looking forward to this book's publishing, after reading his "Area 51" series, as Robert Doherty, and I wasn't disappointed. The only negative comment I can write is that the books are not going to come out as fast as I'd like, that goes for both "Atlantis" and "Area 51".

This is an excellent book by Greg Donegan. I picked it up simply because it presented an interesting twist to the age-old "Atlantis" and "Bermuda Triangle" mysteries. The author weaves an intricate web of adventure and mayhem entangled with very believable sci-fi. From start to finish there is an incredible pace to the book. The main plot is very intriguing and it is really hard to put the book down. Simply because of the unique nature of the plot and the good finish it is a MUST READ! The only thing that begs a question is, "When is the sequel coming out?"

This book sounds fascinating from the jacket, however it reads like an inexpensive Saturday-night 1 hour TV thriller. The dialogue is familiar to me having viewed many "Rambo" films in the past. The plot would seem engaging if one were to read an outline of it, given the sum of the content alone. There is truly something for everyone, considering the catch-phrases and gratuitous violence combined with Tom Clancy-esque descriptions of military action on a global scale. The unsatisfying result leaves one feeling as though he should have abandoned this book after the first 50 pages.

Greg Donegan did an excellent job in writing this book. I was hooked by just reading the summary on the back. It has the most of what I like: mystery, intrigue, and suspense. Also how he tied the age old mystery of "Atlantis" and "The Bermuda Triangle" was well written. The plot had a great flow and rappid pace. From start to finish I found it irresistable to put down. A real by the edge of your seat adventure. I have read the Area 51 series and this series (if it has more than a part two) will give it a good run for its money!! I am anxious for the sequels.

Take a mixing bowl and throw in all of the good things many of us love to read. Add some well aged mysteries, stir in some newly milled and believable explanations for the present, add a dash of interest for the future, and fold in a generous amount of suspense so that its flavor will permeate every morsel of this delicious book. I could not put it down. Well written, well told, and thought provoking when the final page has been turned. The most enjoyable day of escapism I have had for a long time. Don't plan on doing anything once you have read the first page.
