No wonder this book is a timeless source of wisdom and inspiration for writers and any artist - or seekers to become one. The book 'If you want to write', first published in 1938, by Brenda Ueland, is a wonderful guide and gives true insight into what it means to create (any art). She writes: "The creative impulse is a feeling of love and enthusiasm for something....". The creative process is never a showing off, but a love to share, she writes. Ueland: "Everybody is original, if he tells the truth, if he speaks from himself, but it must be from his true self and not from the self he thinks he should be."
From all the books I read about writing, including the much acclaimed "Bird by Bird" by Anne Lamott, for me, this was the most inspiring one.
