learning by doing...
am 1. August 2007
...that's what Ben(Rupert Grint) is doing, getting driving lessons from his mother, so she can keep a smiling face to the world and has time for her secret lover.
Soon after that Ben meets Evie (Julie Walters) an actress, who, metaphorically speaking, grabs him at his collar and pulls him out of his boring, overprotected life and let him breathe freely for the first time.
Julie Walters and Rupert Grint are an amazing pair, they complement one another, it's wonderful just looking at them, e.g. sitting side by side in the car, saying nothing, is so funny that you're almost falling off your sofa.
You get a feeling for these characters, because they have their little ticks and that's what makes them so wonderful and realistic. Plus Rupert Grint has developed into a handsome young man with that particular look only british guys seem to have. This shy look but still with strengh in his eyes.
This movie is one of the best I've ever seen and it can absolutly compare with all these big hollywood-productions.
So if you're looking for a perfect balance between wonderful british humour and serious problem-dealing, without being cheesy, this movie should be your first choice.
