Oh yes. I highly recommend this. Here's why (mild SPOILERS; at the bottom is a short, spoiler-less conclusion):
The Book With No Name is what would be called slipstream in terms of genre. There's something definitely Western in here, Bonnie and Clyde, a pinch of noir, fantasy, vampires and, er, Elvis. The whole thing is a comedy although gruesomeness does happen. But the whole thing is well balanced, which is not an easy thing to do while maintaining readability. Anonymous succeeds; oh, how he/she succeeds! You'll wanna sit down by the fire with a nice glass of Bourbon as you go 'bout readin' this.
Throughout imaginative and with bright imagery. This is not an author who will bore or disgust you with bad writing. There are numerous references to pop culture too, which is one of the reasons I fell in love with this.
Why, colorful of course. Without spoiling the read for you, some of them are gonna die...most of them are gonna die...will keep dying to the last page. They do so convincingly as only few characters can. Some even go off to meet their maker their blue suede shoes. Dive for cover, Dear Reader.
...(no SPOILERS here)
The Book With No Name surprised me because it manages to maintain good readability throughout, never bored me and as a comedy, it succeeded in making me smile, chuckle and laugh. However, it is not a book for the faint of heart. There is action and bloodshed herein, though it is all clothed in very rich, tasteful writing. You like blazing guns, wit any mystery, this one's for you (and even if you don't, you'll at least enjoy the read).
