Sometimes hard to follow but always easy to enjoy

As a native speaker of German I do not get all of the NYC slang idioms but I do get those in Yiddish. So I guess some of the native American readers sometimes get lost as well, so many characters, so much goin on. But still, every chapter, every paragraph and almost every sentence is just a pleasure to read. Again and again there were moments of pure enlightenment for me. Pynchon's style is so unique and intriguing that I think the reader's immediately entangled with Maxine's state of mind which often enough is confusion. Technically spoken it is a 3rd person narrative and main character's (Maxine) point of view. But: Pynchon has a way of telling things that dissolves the borders between author, character, and reader. And these three plus the novel itself become an integer unity. An open reader enters into a new kind of existence. It is in a way psychology, yes it is.
Great read indeed.
