If you know the Shader X books you expect high quality articles from a book edited by Wolfgang Engel. The articles in this book however are of mixed quality. Most are informative and worth to read, but some are probably a waste of paper (come on, an article about porting between two out-dated APIs in a quality of a blog post?).
All in all the book is ok and you will find some interesting gems in there, so it's worth reading - but is it worth > 60€ ? I don't thing so.

This book is disappointing, definitively the worst in Engel's series. The usefulness and quality of the articles is certainly debatable, as it is also a very personal thing what one deems useful. However, the mere quality of the paper is an insult considering the price of the book.
Other than all the "GPU Gem" books, this book is not published by Charles River Media, but by AK Peters. It is printed in India, and it shows.
