I liked the overview over the different printer models with one test figure printed on each one. However, while it allows to draw the inference that anything but the Afinia, Ultimaker and maybe Printrbot Junior is pretty much not that convincing, this special issue has some serious drawbacks. First of all, the review of the printers is rather subjective with little objective comparisons tested. Second, the pictures of the test prints are all crammed into one page, making them a little larger than a stamp. Instead they should have been placed on the page of the described printer, instead of useless photos of the printers inner workings.
But one very big problem that the issue faces is the description of the CAD design process. Instead of using an open source CAD tool, ore one that can be purchased cheaply, the description is based on Tinkercad, which costs $20 a month! What in the world? For the price of one year tinker cad one can get a regular unlimited CAD program.
Summarized I would say that one can either buy the issue or just take from my review that the Afinia and Ultimaker are good and buy one of those, because that is pretty much everything that there is in information.
