clever, funny and also with interesting anecdotes that you would not have expected in a book about travelling. lots of insights into psychology, human mind and emotions. sometimes a bit chatty, kieran often takes too long to get to his point in the chapters, but it's ok.
A wonderful book, very interesting thoughts and ideas. It is a must read for all travelers that have a feeling they lost the sens in their trips and need some reminder of what it is that really matters when you're on the road :]
After having completed 50% of Dan Kieran's "Idle Traveller" I became highly sceptical. I had expected some more details on his famous ride in a milk-float across Britain and wanted to read less about his walks in his immediate surroundings or other travels he had embarked on. But that rating would be too harsh, because Kieran than manages to introduce some very interesting ideas from neuroscience, which might help explaining the way we travel. In this way, the book is on more than just about your next journey.
