It's definately a quick read (three days, less if I hadn't had other things to do). This was my first Mary Higgins Clark book, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The story is interesting and thank God it moves fast. Unfortunately, one of the problems with this book moving so fast is that we as the reader never seem to get hold and enjoy the characters. The characters at best or not very memorable and some of the gimmicks within the story are either frustrating or overused in other stories of the same genre. However, that isn't to say Ms. Clark is a bad author. If she knows one thing, it's how to keep the reader captivated and interested enough to see how the end turns out. I will definately be reading more of her books.

I Thought this book was one of Mary Higgins Clarks bests! I have read many but only a few are awesome and this is one of them! Another good one is "pretend You Dont see Her". This is a great book for any one who loves mysteries!

"A Stranger is Watching" is a great mystery/thriller. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good thriller. The plot was great. I also liked how MHG told the story from different points of view. There must have been at least 8 different points of view. Also, I liked how it tied in a murder that took place several years before any of this. It made the story even better. A true winner by Mary Higgins Clark.

I'm reading the Marry Higgins Clark book A Stranger is Watching . I haven't finished it yet but already I can tell it is a very good book. I like the way she keeps you informed on what is going on. I know what is happening to Sharon and Neil, but I know how helpless Steve and Huge feel. They don't have a clue about any thing. I even feel helpless because I can't get in the book and tell them what is going on. I don't understand why "Foxy" is doing this to Steve. I mean first his wife now his son and his girlfriend. Hopefully after I finish the book it will make more sense. I have read a few of Clarks other books and they all are like this, they all keep you hanging on the edge of your seat and you cant put them down.

This book is one of the best from Mary Higgins Clark, although I pretty much prefer her other books like "Where Are The Children?" and "Silent Night". "A Stranger Is Watching" keeps the reader in suspense until the last part, which is what a thriller lover usually looks for. The only flaw about this book is that some parts are overly exaggerated, and that the author introduced quite a number of characters into the plot, which makes it rather difficult for the reader to just concentrate on one of two characters in the story. Recommended for all mystery and thriller lovers out there. This is one book by Mary Higgins Clark that you should not miss!

My first meeting with MHC was quite succesful since I have ever been reluctant to read these best sellers novels which are displayed in view in railway station and airports. Well, I dived into "un renard dans la nuit" which is the french translation. 3 hours laters, I was convinced. Good points : a very good synopsis, a short and precise writing, a lot of characters that I appreciate, a tremendous art of suspense, a very good description of NY streets (cf. Paul Auster) Bad points : lack of description of many second play characters, miss the main object (death penalty ?), too much "romanced" at the end. I will certainly read another, in english this time

The one thing that I loved about this book was the over whelming feeling of knowing what was going on and not being able to help the charaters in the book put the clues together faster to save Neil and Sharon.. Each chapter made me sit on the edge of my seat because you never know who was going to put all the pieces together..Then as I got closer to the end and found out that Sharon and Neil were to die at the exact moment the execution was to be carried out....I just didn't think that they were going to get the Governer to listen and that three people were going to die because of some sick mans desire to be wanted...I take my hat off to Mary Higgins Clark....

This is one of Mary Higgins Clark's best books! The plot thickens with every page. A non stop reader, you can't put it down. I suggest it to all Mary Higgins Clark fans! A must read.

This was my first Mary Higgins Clark book. It was requested reading on my ninth grade reading list for the summer. At first when I saw the cover, it looked boring, but when I started the book, I couldn't put it down. I felt like I needed to be a detective in the book and tell Hugh and Steve where Sheron and Neil were hidden. I give this book 5 stars and request that it be read by many others.
