Quick and Tasty
am 3. März 2013
After 15 minutes the kitchen looks like a bomb site - and quite a bit of washing up to do. The recipies are easy and fun to cook. Truthfully 15 minutes is hard time to beat and tracking down some of the ingredients takes a lot of time e.g.: harissa, saffron, smoked chipotle or ancho chilli, quinoa....... So they mostly get left out and something else substituted. But thats what cooking is about, starting with a good idea and going from there.
The recipes are typical Jamie Oliver -chopped coriander and olive oil over everything which I hate, (so parsley, basil & co instead and it's not really a must to have an extra coating of oil)
I bought the book for a student son - trying to get him away from takeaways. Its not often that he can afford pork fillet, sirloin steak and salmon filet - but to cook meat that quickly it has to be high quality otherwise its shoe leather. He's not going to cook the recipes that often but the book is a good starter when friends come round or he needs something quick and easy to impress.
