This book which as one of the other reviewers mentioned, basically consists of scorecards and mini-bios, but they took the book for what it was publicized to be, not what it is, it is a journey into the PGA Tour and picking out several players to discuss with them golf and life.
I liked most of it with the exception of Feinstein sometimes using abbreviations for long phrases. This seemed to me to be a feeble attempt at cleverness, but it just got on my nerves.

The author missed a tremendous opportunity to write a masterpiece. The access to players, inside information and details of the PGA Tour was very impressive. Unfortunately, the stories were disconnected and often incomplete. It seemed as if the author had a difficult time maintaining a theme or train of thought. While this is understandable for information collected over a long period of time, it made the book fragmented and difficult to read.

I have trouble sympathizing with the reader who complained of this book's length. Though it is true that you can't judge a book by its cover, you certainly can tell how thick it is! In my opinion, 500 pages was too few. I could have handled that many more, Fienstien comes close to capturing the essence of the mystery of golf ... and why so many of us are captivated by this frustrating little sport.

This is not a technical book, but rather an interesting story about the lives of a handful of professional golfers. This story puts into perspective the stress of competing every week for both the big names and the lessor known names. A wonderful humanistic story that is a real page turner. As a side note, the book does an excellent job at explaining how the PGA Tour works. A great read!

This was one of the best books that I've ever read. Being only 15, I don't read much, but am a huge golf fan. The day I bought this bok I couldn't stop reading it. You don't have to be a fan of the PGA Tour to enjoy this book, but if you are a fan it will make it that much more better. I definately recommend you read this book.

John Feinstein has written a wonderful book about the players on the PGA tour. It makes you feel like you are right there with the players. I especially enjoyed the parts about the players who are fighting just to stay on the tour. It really is a must read for any golfer who has ever dreamed of playing on the tour.

This book offers great insight about the PGA Tour and the mini-tour players. Well written and a joy to read and re-read. This books tells the complete story from the eyes of tour stars and the promising nobodies. Feinstein certainly doesn't pull his punches writing about the more troublesome or egotistical players.

This book is a wonderful look into the thoughts of people who often seem so unreal to the casual viewer or fan. Finally we feel how they feel at times of great joy and great pain and disapointment.
Great Book. I loved it.

This book will make you understand the pressures of the tour. It makes the reader "feel" like he/she is the one going through the paces. All in all, an excellent book.
