A Cookbook of how-to-do-good-research
am 11. April 2010
This book changed my research while I was reading it. The authors are reviewers themselves and show with real examples how research should not be done and what you have to change to make it better. The area of research you're working in is not important, the book covers a big audience. It's very well written and helps improving your own style of writing through this.
The only price that you have to pay is investing the time for reading this excellent book. First you have to work through it from beginning to the end and use it as a reference book afterwards. It's even worth reading it more often than just once. It pays off in the end. Especially in style of writing, time spend to read a paper, organizing your research, time spend of writing papers etc. I would recommend this book for every researcher i.e. PhD students!
