This book changed my life
am 24. Oktober 2016
I bought this book in February 2016, because I was desperate - I spent 1/3 of my day just trying not to forget things, track others and figure out what is the important thing to do. Now, in November 2016, I am still using it and cannot image to handle my busy work- and personal life without.
David Allen describes a system rather than a ready-made tool. But if the reader himself adopts the system and sets up the real-life tools in the way he feels comfortable with, something life-changing happens.
I thought myself pretty organized even before adopting GTD, but Allen really thought it through and comes up with a plan to deal with every aspectof our daily tasks and promises.
Main features are:
- creating time and space to do focused thinking before action
- preparing actions in context-sensitive to do lists, ready-made to be executed without having to re-think
- the reassuring trust that everything worth to be done is in the system - and does not need to revolve constantly around our brain
If you are unsure if the book is up to the promise of "stress free productivity": It does not work miracles, but if you use GTD consistently, the results will be amazing.
