I just want to highlight that this book is currently changing the whole way how industry looks at TPS, especially recognizable if you visit the yearly "Production Systems" Fair in Germany (as we are on amazon.DE)
It might be tedious towards the end, but the basic message is so awesomly ground-shaking, that it has to be given a 5Star. For me this book will sooner or later become recognized as of the classics of Organizational Evolution together with Deming's "Out of the crisis" or Womack's "the machine that changed the world".
BTW: there is also a German version available here on Amazon: http://www.amazon.de/Die-Kata-Weltmarktf%C3%BChrers-Toyotas-Erfolgsmethoden/dp/3593399377/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1402052656&sr=1-1&keywords=kata
This book dives in to the cultural aspects behind the TPS. For beginners within production systems this book can be recommend. For those with TPS experience and intercultural experiences trying to learn and understand for 20+ years, this is waste... Surprisingly the Author seem to have overlooked the most obvious behind TPS, which is very disappointing. JC
