I didn't think I'd ever have to give only 2 stars a novel by Rachel Gibson - but the day has come. I love all of her books - except this one. It reads as if she had a dead line and no proper idea what to write. The characters are shallow and the plot is one-dimensional. After reading it through in only a couple of hours I didn't know the protagonists any better than after the first chapter. But maybe there wasn't anything to know after all.
The book was that un-absorbing, I concentrated more on counting all those typos, wrong or missing words. Did anybody proof-read?
But there's hope after all: The next book in the series is much, much better and if you don't read this book in the series, you won't miss anything.
2 stars: 1 because it's Rachel Gibson and 1 because at least it's got a happy ending - even though the ending is pretty abrupt.
