The primary topic of the book is the relationship between the human body and the architectural and urban spaces constructed for it. Identities flow between one subject and another as warmth in a heat exchanger. Is there anything similarly valid for architecture? Is it possible for architectural rules of buildings to be assigned to the inhabitants? Can inhabitants absorb the functionality buildings? Then, isn t the construction site the inhabitant rather than the building? Considering this, how will our stock of building components then develop? hands have no tears to flow... is a collection of commentaries, pictures and excerpts, quotations and constructs conceived around the human body. The book contains material by Ray und Charles Eames, Bernard Rudofsky, Friedrich Kiesler and other contributors. The design firm grafisches Büro is responsible for the bibliophilic design.
Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende
Arno Ritter, born in 1965, studied journalism, history and philosophy. From 1992 to 1995 he was the secretary at the ÖGfA - The Austrian Society for Architecture. Since 1995 he has been in charge of the "aut. architektur und tirol" (formerly Architekturforum Tirol). He has published numerous books, recently published with Springer: Italo Modern (978-3-7091-0851-2) Wolfgang Tschapeller, born in 1956, originally trained as a carpenter and thereafter completed his studies in architecture at the Academy for Applied Arts from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Since 2005, he is a professor of architecture at the Academy for Fine Arts in Vienna. Since 2012, he has served as head of the Institute for Art and Architecture. In addition to numerous teaching positions he has successfully realized several buildings' construction as an architect. Most recently,, he has won the competition for the expansion of the Academy for Fine Arts in Vienna.
