Dies ist mein erster Phonovorverstärker. Bisher nutzte ich entweder den Phono-Eingang meines alten Pioneer Stereoverstärkers oder den eingebauten Phonovorverstärker des Dual DTJ 301.1. Bevor jetzt Aufschreie kommen: Ich habe den Dual mittlerweile durch einen Thorens TD 203 ersetzt. Die gleichzeitige Ausmusterung des alten Verstärkers mit dem Ersatz durch einen AV Receiver (ebenfalls aus dem Hause Pioneer) machten die Anschaffung des MF V90 nötig. Ursprünglich hatte ich hier Alternativen von Cambridge Audio oder Pro-Ject um 100€ im Auge, aber ich wollte dem Thorens einen Partner aus der gleichen Liga an die Seite stellen.
Mir fehlt die Möglichkeit, den V90 mit anderen Konkurrenten zu vergleichen. Absolut gesehen stellt mich der Klang vollauf zufrieden.
Die Optik und Haptik trifft meinen Geschmack. Klein und unscheinbar. Fast edel. Die kleine blaue LED in der Front empfinde ich nicht als Störung. Der Umschalter zwischen MM und MC wirkt billig, ist aber nicht zu sehen und wird in der Regel ja nicht ständig benutzt.
Der große Kritikpunkt in anderen Rezensionen ist das Netzteil. Ich kann nichts schlechtes darüber sagen. Es ist absolut geräuschlos und erwärmt sich auch nach längerer Nutzung nicht spürbar.
Zum anderen Kritikpunkt- dem "Ploppen" beim Abschalten. Ja, das tuts bei mir auch, aber wenn man das weiß, kann man ja auch erst den Verstärker und danach den V90 abschalten, oder?

Die Zeitschrift AUDIO hat ihn in der Ausgabe 1/2014 getestet und stuft ihn als High-End ein. Selbst mit dem damaligen Preis von 180€ erhielt er das Preis-/Leistungszertifikat "Überragend" und nimmt dadurch nicht nur die Spitzenposition in der High-End Klasse ein, sondern ist gleichzeitig auch noch der billigste Vertreter in dieser Gruppe. Für schlappe 50 € weniger muss man auf 15 Bewertungspunkte verzichten (Dynavox UPR-2.0), für weit mehr als das doppelte (und hier habe ich schon den billigsten Vertreter der höheren Klasse genommen: Creek OBH 15 MK2) bekommt man gerade mal 5 Punkte mehr.

Update 28.02.16: Immer noch Friede, Freude, Eierkuchen. Wie ich sehe, ist der Preis wieder gestiegen und entspricht damit wieder dem Preis, den die AUDIO nennt. Ich konnte diesen Vorverstärker noch für 149,- hier kaufen.

Ich habe einen ProJect Primary E mit eigebautem Phonovorverstärker. Läuft an meinem neuen Netzwerk-Vollverstärker Denon PMA 150H und auf den Boxen KEF Q550. Mit dem im Pro-Ject eingebauten Phonovorverstärker musste ich die Lautstärke von 30 am Denon (gehobene Zimmerlautstärke bei Radio) auf 65 erhöhen um passabel Musik hören zu können. Die gebotene Qualität war, auch vielleicht meinen alten Ohren geschuldet, nicht schön. Es fehlte quasi alles, von den Tiefen über die Mitten bis zu den hohen Tönen. Alles gequetscht. Blass.
Also nach einem separaten Phonovorverstärker gesucht. In sehr vielen Berichten hat sich der Music Fidelity V90-LPS als das passende Teil herauskristallisiert. Ein Vergleichstest auf hifi-Forum.de, wo ein User den NAD PP2, den Cambridge Audio Azur 651P und eben diesen V90 im Vergleich getestet hat, und sich dabei der V90 als der Beste Deal herausgestellt hatte, gab dann den Ausschlag, den zu bestellen. Schick in Silber, passt sehr schön auf meinen Denon, der kleine Ein/Aus-„Nippel“ ist auch schön. Nun zum Sound. Viel besser! Damit lässt sichs sehr schön die alten Schätze wieder mal hören. Für gehobene Zimmerlautstärke reicht jetzt der Pegel von 44 am Denon, also bringt der V90 schon mal eine echte Verstärkung des Signals. Um zu sehen was so möglich ist, habe ich selten gehörte Jazz-Platten aufgelegt. Meine abgenudelten Zeppelin 1 usw. konnte ich ja wohl nicht als Test hernehmen. Wunderbarer, sauberer Sound, Feinheiten werden sauber getrennt widergegeben. So macht Keith Jarrett's Köln Concert doppelt so viel Spaß.
Ich bin kein HIFI-Freak, kann also keine Vergleiche anstellen, ich kann nur sagen, dass ich mit dem V90 in der Kombi vollauf zufrieden bin! Klare Empfehlung von mir!

Ich bin Plattenanfänger, habe also keine große Erfahrung.

Bin mit einem Pro-ject RPM 1.3 Genie eingestiegen. War toll die schwarzen Scheiben zu hören, ganz anders als Spofify etc. Man hat plötzlich was in der Hand, hat ein Ritual bevor Musik durch die Lautsprecher tönt, einfach klasse. Gleich erstmal alle Gregory Porter Alben auf Vinyl gekauft.

Aber mir fehlte etwas, die Musik war warm und gemütlich, aber trotzdem fehlte mir die Definition, es klang immer etwas "dumpf". Also ab ins Netz und recht schnell den Versuch unternommen den eingebauten Ortofon 2M Red mit einem Update zu versehen. 2M BLue Nadel bestellt, angebracht und gleich ein paar Stunden gehört. Es war besser ja, aber ich war dann doch etwas enttäuscht, schließlich is die Nadel selbst gut halb so teuer wie der ganze Plattenspieler.

Dann dachte ich mir bevor ich die Nadel zurück schicke (der Sound war mir den Aufpreis nicht wert), versuche ich noch einen besseren Phonovorverstärker. Zu dem Zeitpunkt nutzte ich den Hama PA 506 und bin durch Recherche auf den V90-LPS gestoßen der sehr häufig gelobt wurde. Ich schlimmsten Fall geht die Nadel und der Verstärker zurück.

Aber was dann kam war einfach nur geil. Die Musik ist mit dem V90-LPS nen gutes Stück lauter, der dumpfe Klang verflogen. Man hat plötzlich das Gefühl die Musik wäre im Raum und nicht nur in den Boxen. Gerade wenn viele schnelle hohe Töne kommen, merkt man deutlich mehr Details und die Musik hat einfach "Bock" beim abspielen.

Ich kann nur sagen dass war die 160 Euro Wert, ich merke definitiv eine Verbesserung des Klanges und genieße die Scheiben jetzt noch umso mehr.

Würde ich Ihn wieder kaufen?

What I am about to reveal about this product was hard for me to digest, considering the favourable reviews.
I purchased this Pre-Amp to digitise my collection of Vinyl, a rather mammoth task that you ever only want to do once. I was expecting a significant improvement over my 40 year old equipment. The Manufacturer claims very low noise levels (barely audible they say), so I decided to contact them before I wrote this review to ascertain whether I had a faulty unit or whether the noise levels were normal. There was no response, so here goes:
As a retired Audio Technician, I've had the opportunity to evaluate a huge range of Hi-Fi equipment since 1980, so I know what I'm talking about here - there is No 'Mistake'. For proper evaluation, I tested with both a Moving Coil & Moving Magnet Cartridge. Both yielded similar Results. The output was connected to a Sony Digital Recorder. The recording level control was properly adjusted (meaning the loudest part of the record registered just just below 0dB, or clipping). If anyone is interested, the record being played was a 12" Single - Blue Monday by New Order. Now to the actual Issue - the noise level (without the record playing of course) was reading about -40db (It was also clearly audible). When the same setup is repeated with my 40 year old equipment, the noise level doesn't even show up on the meter. Now here comes the ultimate proof - I then replaced the Inputs with RCA Shorting Plugs (For anyone who doesn't know - Shorting Plugs to the Input of any Amplifier is vital when determining the noise level specification and is standard practise. It eliminates all external influences that may inject noise into pre-amp). Once this was done, the noise level was still hovering around -40db. This was all being generated by the Music Fidelity V90-LPS. The photo shows the noise level that my Sony Recorder was measuring from this pre-amp. I find it bewildering that this has not been an issue with other reviewers, perhaps it is perceived by many as 'Record Noise' and goes un-noticed, or perhaps I do have a faulty unit, but I I'm unsure because the Manufacturer didn't care enough to respond to my email.
