The TL-ANT2408CL indoor desktop omnidirectional antenna operates in the 2.4GHz band and offers 8dBi antenna gain that significantly increases the range of the WLAN and delivers much better Wi-Fi performance. The antenna has an RP-SMA female connector that ensures good compatibility with most Wi-Fi devices.

Replacing your Wi-Fi antenna with the TL-ANT2408CL achieves a significantly greater range and strength of the Wi-Fi signal. This quality omnidirectional antenna is a direct replacement for the antenna that comes standard with your router and access point. Because it is omni-directional, no alignment is required - it can send and receive in and from all directions on Wi-Fi.

    Haben mir diese Antenne bei Amazon gekauft um mein WLan zu verbessern. Es war vorher schon Ok. Aber in den Randbereichen der Wohnung doch was schwach (Neubau mit Stahlbeton). Amazon Lieferung (kein Prime) wie immer 1-2 Tage, also sehr gut. Die Verpackung ist wirklich Frustfrei, einfach zu öffnen. Unter einer Minunte sind die drauf montiert. Ich selbst hab es bei einen TP-Link TL-WR1043ND verbaut (übrigens spitzen Router). Hier kurz meine Plus & Minus Werte: +++++++ + Solide Gebaut, nicht zu dünn. Eigentlich sehr gewaltig, könnte man sich dran stören. Für mich ok + Schnelle Montage. Gewinde passt gut + Reichweite hat sich deutlich verbessert + Augenscheinlich gute Verarbeitung ------ - Siehe meine Bilder. Also eine Verbesserung ist zu merken, jedoch hätte ich mir bei 5 DBi pro Antenne mehr, mehr gewünscht - Signal zwar deutlich stabiler, aber nicht stärker Kommentar: Ich selbst habe es direkt mit der aktuellen DD-WRT Firmware probiert. Darin kann man verschiedene Einstellungen verändern, welche in der org. Firmware nicht gehen. Ich denke in der org. Firmware ist gar keine Verbesserung zu merken, da er von 3 DBi Antennen ausgeht und nicht von 8 DBi. Evtl. bessere Reichweiten Abdeckung, aber keine verbesserte Sendeleistung. Ich bin aber kein WLan Experte. Grundsätzlich spiele ich noch mit den Einstellungen. Sollte ich, die meiner Meinung nach, beste Einstellung finden, füge ich die gerne noch den Kommentaren hinzu. Kurzum kann ich sagen, solide Antenne, die wirklich groß sind. Jedoch nichts für denjenigen der die Firmware nicht ausgetauscht hat. Nur für User mit DD-WRT oder OpenWRT ein echter Mehrwert. Nebenbei DD-WRT ist für den ein wenig technisch versierten relativ einfach zu installieren. Bietet aber anhand der deutlich aufgeborten Möglichkeiten viel Fehlerpotential.

      Habe 3 Antennen dieser Sorte an meinem WR1043ND.

      Das Signal ist besonders auf weitere Distanzen stabiler, die Signalstärke ist etwas besser.

      Das Knick-Gelenk ist nicht so locker wie bei der anderen getesteten Antenne.

      23.07.2012: Jetzt im nachhinein habe ich den Kauf dieser Antennen nicht bereuht. Die Größe bringt zwar nach wie vor keinen großen Reichweitenvorteil, erhöht aber die Datenübertragungsraten merklich.

      Ich hatte die mitgelieferte, recht kurze Antenne an meinem alten D-Link DWL-G700AP bereits gegen eine längere D-Link Antenne (ca. 19cm) getauscht und somit besseren Empfang im ganzen Haus erzielt. Es gab allerdings immer noch ein paar "blind spots" an entscheidenden Orten. Mit dieser Antenne ließ sich der Empfang noch einmal spürbar verbessern. Dort wo das Signal bisher abrissig war, habe ich jetzt stabilen Empfang. Natürlich auch nur mit relativ niedrigem Pegel, aber immerhin ohne Abbrüche. Ärgerlich ist nur, dass mein Exemplar an der Spitze etwas krumm ist. Aber bei dem Preis bekommt sie dann trotzdem 5 Punkte von mir.

      Nachtrag,
      Ich habe mir mal die negativen Rezensionen angesehen. Teilweise scheint das Problem zu sein, dass die Kunden Wunder erwarten und nicht wissen, wie die Leistung einer Antenne zu bewerten ist. Die mit den Geräten ausgelieferten Antennen haben vermutlich zwischen 3 und 5dbi. Eine Antenne mit 8dbi wird dann i.d.R. kaum mehr als einen Balken zusätzlich erzeugen, je nachdem wie das jeweilige Endgerät den Signalpegel darstellt. 3db mehr heißt aber, dass das Signal am Empfangsort schon die doppelte Leistung hat. Wenn ich bei einem fiktivem Gerät, mit einer 4 o. 5 stelligen Balkenanzeige, ein schwaches Signal mit nur einem Balken bei z.B. -80dbm habe und diese Antenne 5db mehr hat, als die Originalantenne, dann ist mein Empfangssignal mit dieser Antenne -75dbm. Das wäre ein Empfangspegel mit mehr als dreifacher Leistung. Das ist schon ein Unterschied und kann über sein oder nicht sein entscheiden. Irgendwo bei -70dbm habe ich dann vielleicht den zweiten Balken. Auf der anderen Seite wird dieser Unterschied nicht viel ausmachen, wenn ich mich z.B. mit einem beweglichen Gerät im Grenzbereich umher bewege und das Signal z.T. weit unter den nutzbaren Bereich fällt. Dann bedeuten die 5db mehr im Zweifel nur ein bisschen weniger Abbrüche als vorher

      Mit der WLAN Antenne habe ich zwar die Reichweite meiner WLAN Karte leicht erhöhen können, dass es aber besser geht zeigt die D-Link DWL-M60AT.
      Mit der TP-Link Antenne habe ich hin und wieder Probleme ein Signal zu bekommen und öfter mal Abbrüche. Zusätlich war die Geschwindigkeit nicht gerade berauschend. Mit der D-Link funktioniert es einfach top. kostet aber auch über das 3-fache.
      Die TP-Link Antenne schafft es immerhin durch 2 dicke Wände (mit Metall) ein WLAN Signal aufzubauen und stabil bei guter Geschiwndigkeit zu halten. Soll eine eine Wand mehr sein, empfehle ich das D-Link Gerät.

      I think it best to start this review by mentioning what these aerials are not for; specifically, these aerials will not magically boost the range of your network, so if you're having trouble getting a usable wireless connection in a large property or with an awkwardly located router, then I'm afraid these aren't going to help you. Anyone in such a situation may experience a small boost at best with these aerials, and only if both devices (wireless access point and wireless client) are able to fit these external aerials, you are much better off looking into moving your wireless router to a more central location, or investigating a wireless bridge or a repeater (both will likely require your existing router to support WDS!).

      What these aerials are good for however is boosting the performance of an existing, stable wireless connection, which is what they've done for me. I was in a situation where my wireless performance fluctuates a bit, largely because of interference from neighbouring houses, so while it gave great performance during the day, this would drop off in the evenings and slow my ability to connect to the internet considerably. After fitting six of these aerials, probably a bit overkill with three on the router and three on the client, I now get better speed at all times of the day. The aerials are 29cm long, but should fit onto most wireless devices with external aerials; remember to spread them so they're not all pointing in the same direction, as this gives the best signal.

      So, at £4.15 a pop these are a good way to replace external aerials on devices that may ship with somewhat cheap, dinky aerials. In my case I had a D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit Router DIR-655 - Wireless router - 4-port switch - Gigabit Ethernet - 802.11b/g/n (draft 2.0) - desktop which, though an excellent router for a small home-network, comes with fairly lacklustre aerials. However, you can get one of these along with three of these TP-Link aerials for less than £100, which will suit most small properties just fine, but if you still don't get the coverage you want then you will definitely need to look at getting two or more devices with WDS support to give you the coverage you need.

      Je viens de remplacer les trois antennes d'origine de mon router D-link par trois TL-ANT2408CL. Après un quart d'heure de configuration - enfin, plutôt d'orientation - j'ai obtenu un gain de signal là où le besoin se faisait sentir. De fait, ces antennes sont beaucoup moins omnidirectionnelles qu'on voudrait bien faire croire.

      Mais avant de se lancer dans un quelconque achat, je conseille de procéder à quelques vérifications. Car dans la quasi totalité des cas, les problèmes débutent au niveau de la configuration du routeur. A la recherche du mode d'emploi de votre routeur donc!

      Ensuite, il est utile de télécharger deux programmes; (Vista)Stumbler, et Wifi Analyzer, une app gratuite pour smartphone.

      Vistastumbler permet de voir les réseaux wifi autour de soi, et plus particulièrement les canaux utilisés par ceux-ci. A priori les canaux 1, 6 ou 11 sont préférables pour l'internet. En fonction du résultat annoncé par Vistastumbler, on peut choisir sur son routeur le canal le moins usité - ou vérifier que le routeur configuré pour optimiser lui-même le choix du meilleur canal ne se retrouve pas systématiquement sur le canal le plus chargé.

      Tant qu'on y est, vérifions la configuration en 802.11g, n, voire même b. Dans mon cas, le fait d'avoir remplacé le choix multiple par le seul 802.11g (et non 'n' car mon imprimante wifi ne le supporte pas) a probablement apporté un très léger gain de vitesse, mais a surtout résolu une très grande instabilité de réseau.

      Dernière étape; l'emplacement du routeur, et/ou la direction de ses antennes. Le jeu consiste à mesurer la puissance du wifi dans chaque pièce avec le Wifi Analyzer, à changer le positionnement du routeur, à re-mesurer... et finalement à opter pour l'achat d'une antenne TL-ANT2408CL si (et seulement si) le signal wifi est présent dans la pièce, mais bien trop faiblement.

      5 stelle non certo perché abbia fatto un miracolo, ma perché per la spesa fatta (ne ho prese 5 a €4,76 cadauna, a futura memoria) hanno dato un eccellente risultato.

      Immediatamente montate (facilissimo: si svitano le vecchie e si avvitano queste), a qualche giorno di distanza la differenza si avverte nettamente. Non solo con una maggiore ampiezza di campo (il mio TP-Link TL-WDR4300 N750 ne monta tre e la differenza si sente proprio), ma soprattutto con una maggiore stabilità del segnale.

      Non sono uno smanettone di quelli che misurano tutto, ma in camera da letto, a distanza di una dozzina di metri dal router e con almeno tre pareti spesse in mezzo, il segnale cadeva in continuazione. Niente da fare, non prendeva il PC, ma neanche l'iPhone o l'iPad. Con le nuove antenne si naviga benissimo e tutti i servizi in streaming funzionano senza problemi.

      Consiglio a tutti coloro che sono insoddisfatti del segnale in casa e che stanno pensando a chissà quali cambiamenti o investimenti di provarle: col basso costo che hanno, vale davvero la pena di fare un tentativo con queste prima di valutare altre soluzioni più costose. Nota bene: se il router ha due o tre antenne, è preferibile sostituirle tutte.

      Altra cosa. E' possibile che sia vero che il maggior assorbimento delle antenne più lunghe possa richiedere maggiore potenza. Io ho notato un miglioramento netto anche senza amplificazioni di chissà che tipo. Comunque, cercando un po' su internet si apprende che questa è una cosa su cui è possibile lavorare senza spendere soldi con aggiornamenti del firmware originale, con firmware custom (DD-WRT, ad esempio) o con le impostazioni regionali (per i router che permettono di cambiare il paese, facendo attenzione a non fare nulla di illegale).

      I was replacing my stock antenna as I had lost it in the move, I as thinking this would be around the same size, but it is actually about 3 times as big. It almost reaches the top of the case from the very bottom where the wireless card is attached.

      Other than the size, it works great! It has done the job and allowed my desktop PC to connect to my wireless network again.
