    "Best of the Epic-Years" - die Epic-Years 1991 - 1992 umfassten nun mal nur die beiden Alben 1916(1991) und March or Die(1992). Von beiden Alben werden jeweils von insgesamt 11 Songs hier 7 pro Album aufgeboten, zusätzlich noch 2 Single-B-Seiten. Die meisten Fans werden sich diese Scheibe wohl wegen der beiden raren Single-B-Seiten "Eagle Rock" und "Dead mans Hand" zulegen, die Zusammenstellung kommt mir recht zufällig ausgewählt vor, da zumindest mir mit "Stand", "Im so bad (Baby I dont care)", "No Voices in the Sky" drei total essentielle Songs fehlen. Für Neueinsteiger, die einfach mal in Motörhead reinriechen wollen, ist diese Zusammenstellung für billiges Geld trotzdem nicht verkehrt. Der Sinn bleibt mir für Fans aber total verborgen, da diese eh die Originalalben haben werden.

    Ziemlich blödsinnige Idee, ein Best of Motörhead- Album herauszubringen, das bloß Songs von "1916" und "March or die" enthält. Die zwei CDs sollte man sich einzeln kaufen. Besonders "1916" ist vom ersten bis zum letzten Ton ein Klassiker. Und wenn es schon sein muss, sollte man bei der Zusammenstellung die grandiosen Tracks "No Voices in the Sky" und "Stand" nicht vergessen. Die einzige Existenzberechtigung dieser CD ist, dass die raren B- Seiten "Eagle Rock" und "Dead Man's Hand" enthalten sind.
    Fazit: Fünf Sterne für die hammergeile Musik, ein Stern für die dämliche Idee... sagen wir drei Sterne, okay? Lemmy rocks!

    Bien sûr, ce CD aurait dû être plus étoffé en ajoutant quelques titres mais ne boudons pas notre plaisir. La qualité est là. Ce qui est regrettable, c'est le manque de références. Ces titres sont tirés de quel(s) album(s) ? Et, comme une mauvaise habitude récurrente, c'est écrit bien trop petit, alors que la double page du livret laissait l'occasion à une police de caractères plus grande de s'y trouver inscrite. Le prix le justifie peut-être (d'autant que c'était en solde quand j'en ai fait l'acquisition), mais c'est déplorable un tel manque de considération pour les acheteurs (et fans) que nous sommes. Allez, j'enlève une étoile pour la peine, non mais ! Et, à part l'incontournable Kilminster, qui d'autre joue donc avec lui au fil des titres ainsi compilés ? Et s'agit-il d'une progression chronologique ?
