    Hallo. Über die Musik muss man nicht viele Worte verlieren. Einfach nur KULT. Wer die Zeiten erlebt hat, weiß was gemeint ist. NMA sind bis heute aktiv und immer noch gut. Diese Scheibe ist aus meiner Sicht ihr Meisterwerk. Rebellisch, rau und gleichzeitig melodisch. Viele unsterbliche Hymnen. Zur Lieferung: Alles top und zu einem sehr günstigem Preis! Sehr empfehlenswert, habe schon oft bei diesem Anbieter bestellt, war immer zufrieden. Schöne Grüße

    Endlich legt EMI die vier NMA Alben in einer anständigen Qualität neu auf.
    Im Vergleich zur bisherigen Fassung ist auf dem neuen 2'er Set die erste CD mit der damaligen LP identisch. Auf der zweiten CD sind dann die schon bekannten fünf "Bonustracks" der CD-Erstauflage sowie eine tolle Version von "Adrenalin", diverse Live-Tracks (von der Raw Melody Men-Scheibe) und der acapella "Mermaid Song". NMA-Fans hatten sämtliche Versionen schon auf Maxis oder sonstigen Erscheinungen. Erfreulich ist aber, das die Klangqualität durch das Remastern nochmals deutlich zulegen konnte. Alleine das hat für mich den Kauf gerechtfertigt. Viele Versionen habe ich jetzt erstmals auf CD, da sie bisher tlw. nur auf Maxi-Singles erhältlich waren.
    Das Booklet entspricht im wesentlichen der CD-Erstauflage, aber m.E. war das kaum zu verbessern. Zu den Bonus Tracks sind die Quellen angegeben, die Texte fehlen aber leider.
    Insgesamt für mich nach 16 Jahren (so alt ist die "Thunder and Consolation" ja inzwischen) einfach ein MUSS gewesen! Ein TOP-Album wurde nochmals gesteigert!

    New Model Army ist seit Jahren eine meiner Lieblingsbands. Das Album "Thunder and Consolation" kann man wunderbar ganz durchhören, es enthält wirklich nur gute Songs. "Green and Grey" und "Vagabonds" gehören für mich zu den unsterblichen Klassikern. Post-Punk / Independent Rock mit Elementen von Folk-Rock / Irish Folk, tanzbar, aber mit kritischen, nachdenklich machenden Texten. Einfach nur großartig!

All sounds as fresh as when originally released. Bought this particular CD first as "125" is THE best in-car tune EVER; its immortal, heavy, pulsing, driving beat and aggressive vocals. Evokes such great memories of a mis-spent youth too.

    i had this album in 88 or 89 (on cassete) and loaned it to someone "cause i thought they would like it and never got it back and forgot how amazingly good it is--i listen to the entire album at least every 3 days and listen to opening track almost every day and sometimes several times in a row--you could contact my neighbors for further reviews "cause they've all heard it--i may be wrong, but NMA reminds me of both stiff little fingers and social distortion--some pretty good sound to sound like...the world would be a better place if everyone liked this album...but then again...if everyone liked this album then i wouldn't...okay...i'm done

    This is a gem of an album from New Model Army.

    Here is a band reaching maturity, knocking off some of the rough edges and producing an album of thoughtful and compelling songs and anthems.

    Many of the songs here are top notch - the fabulous 'I Love the World', 'Vagabonds' and the penetrating 'Stupid Questions'. Others are more contemplative but no less enjoyable.

    A great album from a very special band.
