GREG HEFFLEY
Greg's biggest goal is to become rich and famous. And then all of his diaries, uh, his memoirs, will surely tear out of his hands!
Until it's so far, Greg has others to do. Because school is a daily struggle of survival, and getting up in the popularity scale is not an easy task, with all the idiots who jingle around him: nasty students, common teachers, angry girls, annoying parents, annoying brothers.
Greg likes to spend his time indoors - in front of the TV or the computer. He loves video games over everything. Very much to the annoyance of his mom, who wants to persuade him again and again to go to the "fresh air" and do something "useful" or "creative".
RUPERT JEFFERSON
Rupert is Greg's best friend, even if the two are actually quite different. Often Greg just finds him embarrassing. No wonder, who invites his friends to "play" instead of hanging them down?
Together with Greg, Rupert has the comic "Heißa, Mama!" but only Rupert then manages it into the year book on the page with the class-favourites. Rupert loves his Dino Blaster action figures and plays clarinet in the school band. Greg holds Rupert for a pretty fear bunny because he fears himself from rubber worms and wild geese.
Nevertheless, Greg is really happy to have Rupert as a friend. Because who else would play "Twisted Wizard" with him or warn him of poop on the way to school?

Manni HeffleyManni is Greg's younger brother and mom's favourite. No matter what Manni does for nonsense he is rarely punished for this. And sometimes when mom and dad are not looking at it, he plays a small prank. Manni is still going to kindergarten, and on holiday he rarely drives without his potty. SUSAN HEFFLEYGregs Mom loves her family very much and does everything so that the others do well. Sometimes she exaggerates it a bit, and then she can become embarrassing. For example, if she brings Greg his lunch or gym bag to school, suddenly without warning when his representative teacher appears or wants to drive him to the coolest Halloween party of the year. |
Frank HeffleyGreg's Dad is trying to get his son again and again to do more sports. He makes Greg swim, fires him at football and even gives him a barbell. But he must see every time that Greg is not a sports cannon. Gregs Dad doesn't like spending money and is very happy if he has time in between. |

Wenn sich das Jahr dem Ende neigt, erscheinen oft ganz bestimmte Bücher, auf die ich mich alljährlich sehr freue. Bei einem dieser Bücher handelt es sich um das neue „Gregs Tagebuch“ von Jeff Kinney. Und auch dieses Jahr durfte ich in den Genuss kommen den neuesten Teil zu lesen. Ja, ich bin bereits 27 und ja, ich liebe den kindlichen Humor des Autors auch in meinem Alter.Es ist inzwischen der vierzehnte Teil aus der Reihe rund um Greg, seine Freunde und Familie erschienen und man könnte doch meinen, dass irgendwann alles erzählt und die lustigen Szenen aufgebraucht sind oder nicht? Nein – Jeff Kinney weiß nach all der Zeit noch immer Verknüpfungen zu alten Charakteren aus früheren Teilen zu knüpfen und hält seinen Witz und Charme bis heute ganz weit oben! Es wird nicht langweilig und ich musste bisher bei wirklich jedem Buch mehrfach schmunzeln, wenn nicht sogar laut auflachen.Im neuesten Teil erbt die Familie Heffley eine Menge Geld. Und was machen sie mit dem Geld? In typischer Heffley-Manier wird einstimmig entschieden, das Haus auszubauen. Dass dieser Umbau nicht reibungslos über die Bühne geht ist wohl jedem von vorneherein klar oder? Nur so viel, es lauert nicht nur ein Monster namens Mörtel in den Rohren.Was mir wieder sehr gut gefallen hat, ist die Tatsache, dass der Autor liebgewonnene Charaktere immer wieder gekonnt auf die Bildfläche projiziert. Über die Jahre hinweg hat man neben Greg und seiner chaotischen Familie doch so einige Lieblinge ins Herz geschlossen. Und auch im vierzehnten Teil gibt es ein Wiedersehen, welches sich beim Lesen sehr gut angefühlt hat.Der Schreibstil und die Comic-Strips sind wie gewohnt humorvoll ausgearbeitet. Man erwartet ein neues „Gregs Tagebuch“ und man bekommt es auch. Schon jetzt freue ich mich auf den nächsten Teil und hoffe, dass der Autor uns noch viele Jahre mit der Familie Heffley begeistern wird.Das einzige Manko ist, dass die Bücher für meinen Geschmack immer viel zu kurz sind. Ich könnte stundenlang weiterlesen.Fazit: Einmal Greg immer Greg!
