About the Author

Immanuel Kant wurde am 22. April 1724 in Königsberg geboren und verstarb am 12. Februar 1804 ebenda. Kant war Professor der Logik und Metaphysik in Königsberg und zählt zu den bedeutendsten Vertretern der Aufklärung. Mit seinem Werk Kritik der reinen Vernunft läutete er einen Wendepunkt in der Philosophiegeschichte und den Beginn der modernen Philosophie ein.

Wilhelm Weischedel wurde 1905 in Frankfurt a.M. geboren, und studierte in Marburg evangelische Theologie, Philosophie und Geschichte. 1932 promovierte er zum Dr. phil. in Freiburg und lehrte anschließend als Professor der Philosophie in Tübingen und Berlin. 1970 wurde er emeritiert. Weischedel starb 1975 im Alter von 70 Jahren in Berlin.
