He became a regular contributor toPunch, the classic British humor magazine, where he met A. A. Milne, a man who was to beinstrumental to his career. Shepard was elected to the editorial board of Punch, and shortlythereafter, he agreed to do the illustrations for Milne's first book of verse, When We Were VeryYoung.
The illustrations that Shepard created for all four of the Pooh books received worldwide acclaim. For the next thirty years, he continued to illustrate books for both adults and children.

- Reviewed in Germany on 2 June 2022I'm awfully sorry, but I described the book as a diary. It's my fault, because I got tha diary as if it were a book, but it was another seller NOT on AMAZON.
I'm sorry again and , please skip my previous note, because there were no problems with this order.
- Reviewed in Germany on 16 January 2012Unbeatable price and not too shabby edition. If you read it to your children or if they can already do without many illustrations, than it's really worth considering.

- Reviewed in Germany on 7 January 2015These Masterfully written stories and poems which were read to me as a child, I now read with my child of 4 in digital format. She asked why Pooh looked the way he does so we learned about A.A. Milne and Pooh online and saw a photo of the two of them with The Real Christopher Robin! The poignant illustrations of Pooh and his friends by E. H. Shepard are refreshingly realistic and provide the perfect stimulus to spark one's own imagination. We feel very much part of the happenings in the “100 Aker Wood”. Three Cheers for A. A. Milne, E. H. Shepard and a Bear called Pooh!
- Reviewed in Germany on 24 November 2012I've started reading my five year old more books that have less pictures. She loves Winnie the Pooh. I was surprised at how much richer the characters are than their modern versions. They are perhaps a bit less likeable, but a lot more interesting. My five year-old doesn't really understand everything that's going on, but she doesn't seem to mind, and I don't get bored reading her this book.

This review is for A.A. Milne Winnie The Pooh (specifically book 1 AmazonClassics Edition available on K. U.) Although I own many hardback and paperback versions
I adore The Winne the Pooh series. My first set was the paperback edition with water color like illustrations before surgery when I was four with my own Pooh, Eeyore, and Tigger. It helped my wait and recovery time. They accompanied me through many other surgeries. So this why these stories mean comfort to me even today.
I had not read a Pooh Story on kindle yet so when it was recommended it was downloaded immediately.
This version has black and white sketch illustrations similar to my scholastic book paperbacks (similar to the cover) for those who want to know the kind of artwork inside. This book does have auditable but I never use this feature. I prefer to do my own reading.
To me the stories are all sweet tales of good friendships that are heartwarming for all ages. Would highly recommend to others.

My 7 yr old loved the book. He is a slow reader and just about getting into the habit. Good but if you are looking for your kid to get into reading.
