I can only confirm what several readers before me have stated: This book could have easily been compressed into an article. If you have any idea what statistics and data mining is, then this book will not add much to your knowledge.

The author goes to some great length to define big data by three attributes (more, messy, correlation rather than causalty). While all these hold true, an explanation mght have fit into two pages each, rather than several dozens.

All in all, easily digestible but also largely boring. Not recommended to anyne who is not a 100% rookie in data matters.

Honestly, this is an interesting topic and some of the ideas presented in this book are interesting and worth thinking about.

However, the content is extremely shallow, the author keeps banging on the same points over and over again. Hence, the book's content could easily be condensed to 10% of its size, without sacrificing detail and depth.

Most of the content is trivial and banal, making it somewhat cumbersome to read. Nevertheless, the author goes to some length to make you believe it's rocket science. Well, maybe, to a marketer it is ...

Don't waste your time on this.
