hi there,
I know that there must be like a gazillion posts like this one, but i am really in need of new books! I would be really happy if you guys could recomend some!!

Id like to have books out of the paranormal romance genre, and i have already read:
J.R. Ward Black Dagger
Patricia Briggs Alpha Omega
Sherrilyn Kennyon
Larissa Inone
Lara Adrian
Gena Showalter
(as you can see ive read nearly all "famose" fantasy books)

Id rather not read young adult fantasy books ... im not a big fan of all-age books.

Hi,

I would recomend:
Nalini Singh
G.A. Aiken
Shelly Laurenstone
The first Anita Blake Books by Laurell K. Hamilton
Kevin Hearne - The Iron Duke Chronicles (no romance but good read)
Breeds by Lora Leigh
Dana Marie Bell
Robin Owens
Anya Bast - Dark Magic (4 Books)

All reads are recommended in english because the german translation lacks....... a lot.

Thx for replying!! They sound really great!

Yeah german translation always sucks ... well translations in general I thinl its because they re not the words the author would have chosen or him/herself!

If you like Patricia Briggs, read the Mercy Thompson books.
Kelley Armstrong, her Women of the Otherworld series is a great read, as are her YA novels, especially the Darkest Powers trilogy.
I def. second Ilona Adrews, both the Kate Daniels and the Novels of the Edge series.
Kristen Cashore: Graceling and Fire, Bitterblue is coming out soon, the third book in this series. Loved them.
Again YA but among my favourites: Tamora Pierce, especially the Wild Magic, Protector of the Small and the Beka Cooper series.
Something completely different but so much fun to read: The Parasol Protectorate by Gail Carriger.

If you want to read some really epic fantasy try Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time, 13 Books so far ( + the Prequel), the 14th and last should come out in January 2013, so it should be out when you've read the other 13 books. Though it's not purely focussed on romance there still is some of it in there. 1st Book ist called "The Exe of the World".

I'm not sure Arlene Webb's series The Colors qualify as paranormal romance exactly. The most unusual books I've read recently. Splintered Energy (The Colors) is the first. Brilliant humor. Literally. And plenty of romancing going on. :-)

I would recommend the series by Linsay Sands (An Argeneau Vampire Novel).
Her Books contains a funny potpourri of fantasy and a whiff of erotic.

My favourite fantasy is Terry Goodkind's 'sword of truth' series. A real world feel with elements of fantasy that add to rather that detract from the characters. Also try Orson scott Card's 'seventh son' fantasy with a real difference.

And if I dare be so bold: my fantasy novel Fuel to the Fire, the first in series (2nd published, 3rd being written) and FREE today. Here's the blurb:

Fuel to the Fire is FREE today:

Having spent her entire life disguised as a boy to avoid the risk of being forced into sexual slavery, fifteen year old Davran finds herself transported to a world thought to be legend. With sunlight, an abundance of food and people that trust, this world is everything her home is not. She could be happy, she could disclose the love she feels for Ronyn (the dragon trainer's son), but when Hesperus (the Keeper-of-Knowledge) discovers her, she may have to return to a world of misery where even suicide is no escape and where the most frightening monster is not the dragons or the razor-hounds, but the tyrannical ruler, Saurian.

Try Weapon of Flesh by Chris A. Jackson. It is running up the Kindle bestseller lists for fantasy and action & adventure on both Amazon.com and Amazon.de. His other books are also great.

Janaki meint:
Try Sharon Lee, Carousel Tides - one of the best fantasy novels I've read in the last years.
About the book:
Kate Archer left home years ago, swearing that she would die before she returned to Maine. As plans go, it was a pretty good one — simple and straightforward.
Not quite fast enough, though.
Before she can quite manage the dying part, Kate gets notice that her grandmother is missing, leaving the carousel that is the family business untended.
And in Archers Beach, that means ‘way more trouble than just a foreclosure. ("About the book" copied from Baenebooks)
