When unboxing the box everything was very nicely packed. Plenty of foam to make sure nothing gets damaged by the terrible treatment from the shipping companies. The box was packed underneath, outside, the printer but it would be nice if it was packed inside the red hood to reduce the box size.The instruction are very clear with nice pictures to indicate what parts they are talking about. The English text is very well written and easy to understand. Calibrating the build plate is easy enough and after the first experience, it will be super easy to do in the future. Using ChituBox was a new experience for me but anyone can figure out how this works. I am very accustomed to PrusaSlicer for my FDM printer and can tell ChituBox is way easier to get started with! Operating the machine is easy with the nice and big icons on the screen. There are not a lot of option which avoids confusion.My first print was the Rook, sliced by me not the pre-sliced on the supplied USB-stick. The amount of detail on this print is incredible, my FDM-printer is no match! I used the standard settings which correspond to the specific resin settings on the Elegoo-website: 'Support -> Resin Setting Guide'. Here you can also find settings proposed by the community for other brand resins.The machine is very very sturdy. All exterior parts are made of metal and this makes the machine feel sturdy and make it quite heavy. The Z-axis is rock-solid and the linear rail makes for very smooth movement of the build plate. The red cover which slides over the printer comes with a separate silicone strip to attach to the bottom. It would be nice if this was attached already at the factory, but a few drops of super glue is easy to do by yourself.A very silly mistake I made was putting the build plate down after printing and not noticing it was in direct sunlight. This made the resin on the plate cure to the build plate and very hard to remove. So please don't do this and be careful when working with direct sunlight around. I contacted customer support and their reply was quick and they helped me out very nicely!As you can tell already I am very pleased with this purchase.

Bin nun mit dem Elegoo Mars in die Welt des 3D Drucks eingestiegen und ich bin wirklich hellauf begeistert. Die Druckqualität ist Top, der Drucker ist sehr einfach zum Handhaben.

Meine Kritik-Punkte weshalb man sich vielleicht doch für ein teureres Modell entscheiden könnte (Aufgrund des Preises habe ich die nicht in die Bewertung einfließen lassen da ich finde, dass der Drucker auf jeden Fall hält was er verspricht) :

* Die Z-Achse könnte etwas stabiler sein. Vor allem wenn man große Flächen direkt auf der Build-Platte druckt biegt sich die Z-Achse doch merklich. Bei großen Drucken passiert es dadurch schon, dass man mal nen Layer-shift drin hat. Bei kleinen Drucken, bzw durch geschickte Rotation der Modelle kann man dies meist umgehen.

* Im Gegensatz zum Anycubic Photon ist es beim Elegoo Mars nicht möglich einen Resin-Kalibrierungsdruck mit unterschiedlichen Belichtungszeiten in einem Layer zu drucken. Um verschiedene Belichtungszeiten für ein Resin zu testen müssen folglich mehrere Drucke separat gemacht werden.

* Die Software auf dem LCD display hat teilweise schon China-Charakter... Ist aber glaube ich bei Anycubic auch nicht besser. Dafür müsste man vermutlich schon zu nem Formlabs greifen aber es wäre unfair einen 300€ Drucker mit einem 3000€ Drucker zu vergleichen.

* Der mitgelieferte Slicer Chitubox funktioniert für mich nicht! Aufgrund von Graphikfehlern beim Rendern ist das Modell immer unsichtbar bei mir. Benutze deshalb Lychee-Slicer welcher den Elegoo Mars 2 Pro auch unterstützt und einen durchaus guten Job macht (Obwohl ich web-apps ja prinziell verabscheue).

Positiv hervorzuheben sind mMn:

* Haftung an der Druckplatte ist einwandfrei. Im Internet findet man Zahlreiche beschwerden bei allen möglichen Druckern (auch beim Vorgänger Elegoo Mars 1), dass Drucke von der Druckplatte abfallen. Ist mir in über 50 Drucken nur 2 mal passiert und zwar ein mal weil ich schwarzes Resin aus Versehen mit Einstellungen für weißes Resin verwendet hatte und ein mal weil ich zu sehr versucht hatte den "Elefantenfuß" beim Druck zu optimieren und somit dann doch zu wenige Burn-In-Layers bzw zu kurze Belichtungszeit für die Burn-In-Layers zu verwenden - alles beides mal mein Fehler.

* Geruchsentwicklung: Man liest ja viel im Netz wie fürchterlich Resin-Drucker stinken sollen. Kann ich mit dem Elegoo Mars 2 Pro nicht bestätigen. Ja, man riecht es wenn der Drucker im Einsatz ist, aber die eingebauten Aktivekohlefilter machen eine gute Arbeit. Ich drucke in meiner Büro-Ecke im Wohnzimmer. Fenster öffne ich dabei schon immer aber es ist auf keinen Fall dramatisch schlimm.

Noch eine letzte Anmerkung:
In den Datenblättern steht überall der Drucker hätte eine XY-Auflösung von 50µm. Achtung, das ist falsch! Es sind tatsächlich 51µm. Das hat überhaupt keinen Einfluss auf das Ergebnis mit einer Ausnahme: Wenn man glatte Flächen in einem Winkel von 45° drucken möchte, sollte man dementsprechend 51µm Layer-Höhe auswählen um die Linien des Eliasing-Effektes zu vermeiden!

Aus meiner Sicht hat sich das Warten gelohnt. Der Mars Pro kommt mit einem stabileren Kopf, einer guten Spindel mit weniger Spiel und einigen Verbesserungen wie der USB-Port vorne. Der Drucker lässt sich nach der Anleitung kalibrieren und kann mit dem auf dem USB-Stick Testprint des Rook sofort drucken. Das hat auch auf Anhieb geklappt.
Ich finden den Drucker im allgemeinen sehr schön kompakt und er braucht nicht viel Grundfläche. Die Chitubox Software ist einfach zu bedienen und liefert nach dem Slicen auf das notwendige Format für den Druck.

Was mir fehlt ist eine Abdeckhaube für den Resin-Tank. Ich habe keine Lust den Tank jedes mal zu entleeren und habe einfach eine Frischhaltefolie drauf gespannt. Für ein paar Tage wird das gehen. Eine Dauerlösung ist das nicht.

Ein ersten eigenen Druck habe ich ebenfalls erstellt. Das Modell wurde in Fusion 360 erstellt, in STL exportiert und in der Chitubox mit Stützen versehen und ge-sliced. Anschließend einen neuen Ordner auf dem Stick. Datei drauf, fertig. Druck gestartet und ein erstes tolles Ergebnis.

Einen Fehldruck hatte ich auch schon, die Platte am Kopf muss absolut sauber sein und doch mal mit Isopranol nachgereinigt werden. Auch bei Water Washable Resin muss die Oberlfäche mit Isopropanol gereinigt werden. Sonst haftet der Druck auf der FEP Folie und nicht auf der Platte.

Preis-Leistung stimmt, der Drucker ist einfach zu bedienen und die Drucke sind genial scharfkantig und präzise ohne Stufen und Raster. Achtung! Das Water Washable Resin braucht andere Werte als das Standard Resin (Bitte bei den Rezensionen der Resinharze nachsehen).

Was würde ich mir wünschen? Größerer Bauraum und schnellerer Druck (liegt aber am Resin und nicht am Drucker).

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem guten, aber preiswerten Resindrucker und habe mich im Internet informiert und mich ins Thema eingelesen, weil ich ein völliger Anfänger in Sachen 3d.Druck bin.
Nach eingehender Recherche habe ich mich für den Elegoo Mars 2 Pro entschieden und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Mir ging es in erster Linie um Figuren und Gelände für das Tabletop-Hobby und tatsächlich: Die Druckqualität und der Detailreichtum der Drucke ist fantastisch. Den mitgelieferten ChituBox-Slicer fand ich sehr anfängerfreundlich um kam nach einer Eingewöhnungs- und Experimentierphase von wenigen Stunden gut damit zurecht. Käufer müssen sich im Klaren darüber sein,
dass Resindruck mit einer Menge Aufwand verbunden ist. Wegen der Dämpfe und der Hautreizungseigenschaften müssen beim Arbeiten immer ein Mund-Nasenschutz (Heute in jedem Haushalt zu finden) sowie Handschuhe getragen werden. Für meine Zwecke eignet sich ein in Alkohol waschbares Resin am besten, doch hier muss jeder für sich ein wenig experimentieren. Wer sich für so ein Gerät interessiert, weiss, dass neben Maske und Handschuhen noch ein mit 99,9% Isopropylalkohol gefüllter Behälter zum Reinigen der Drucke erforderlich ist. Einziger Nachteil des Mars2 Pro ist seine relativ kleine Druckfläche, weswegen ich mir für grössere Objekte noch zwei Elegoo Neptune 2 Filamentdrucker zugelegt habe. Die erwähne ich hier, weil ich von meiner Serviceerfahrung mit der Firma Elegoo berichten möchte. Die Neptune 2 waren bei Amazon damals ausverkauft, weshalb ich sie aus dem Ausland bestellt hatte. Bei einem der Drucker ging nach kurzer Zeit das Heatend kaputt und spezifische Ersatzteile waren noch nicht erhältlich. Deswegen habe ich mich direkt an Elegoo in China gewandt, die mir dann innerhalb einer Woche ein kostenloses Ersatzteil aus China geschickt haben. Ich muss sagen; Eine tolle Serviceerfahrung! Nachdem ich nun drei Geräte der Firma Elegoo in meinem Haushalt betreibe, kann ich die Marke nur empfehlen. Für den Mars 2 Pro gibt es von mir auf jeden Fall fünf Sterne!

I have wanted to get into 3D printing for over a year and was saving up to get the UniFormation GKtwo as it seemed the best one for my miniature printing. However I also was impressed on this one's reviews on Youtube so as it was my first printer I went with the cheaper one just in case I did not take to it: less money wasted.

I read the instructions which appear to be written by AI or someone who doesn't have good English. Despite this I managed to level the bed and get ready to print the test model. WOW it came out perfect. I left all settings for this as the factory defaults and intended to alter them afterwards as necessary but to my amazement the test model; was sharp, crisp and as far as I could see, perfect. It is quiet, no smell and takes my around 1-2 hrs to make a model/plate of models with the default settings so quite fast.

So I made a dwarf. Perfect again.
Then I made a Japanese Konflikt '47 officer. Perfect again.
I made a gladiator. Another perfect.

So, I have not touched the settings at all and don't intend to as I will only mess it right up and regret touching them. So far I have had NO bad prints, which was a worry.

I am in seventh heaven with this machine and am now printing round the clock as I no longer need to buy any miniatures ever. What a Godsend this really is.

I cannot recommend this enough. It is perfection indeed!
I still intend to buy myself the UniFormation GKtwo, but this can definitely wait for the moment and I will spend all my spare time making models for the forseable future.

I recommend Chitubox slicer, which comes on the provided usb stick. Don't bother subscribing, use the free version as it does everything you will need. It does take a little while to work your way around it but after making maybe 3 print runs I can do everything with it that I can imagine I ever would need to.

I had a few prints fail at the start which I believe was down to the temperatures in my garage and I managed to get round it with a heating belt from amazon to heat up the vat to keep the liquid warm. Since then I've been experimenting with different STL files. This printer wouldn't read STL files so had to convert them to GOO files on the voxeldance app which you get free membership with your printer purchase. The printer is very user friendly and I would say if you have basic computer skills you can set up your prints as voxeldance can pretty much do everything for you like auto support systems etc. If you feel like giving it ago but scared it's too complicated don't.. A few days I got my head round the basics I'm not saying I'm brilliant but I'm happily getting some successful prints now which is motivating me. If anyone has any questions feel free to message a fellow newbie. Goodluck

The printer is very user friendly and I would say if you have basic computer skills you can set up your prints as voxeldance can pretty much do everything for you like auto support systems etc. If you feel like giving it ago but scared it's too complicated don't.. A few days I got my head round the basics I'm not saying I'm brilliant but I'm happily getting some successful prints now which is motivating me.
