5,0 von 5 Sternen Great Quality
Bewertet in den USA am16. September 2020
Upgraded from Blue Yeti, XLR mic is a different world from usb, using in tandem with a GoXLR broadcast mixer and do not need a cloud lifter, the preamp in the GoXLR is great!
The Microphone is heavy and feels solid, the build quality is great, I use it for podcasting and occasionally streaming, It works great in those cases, I don't really put a lot of range into this mic and don't use it for music so I am not sure how it will compare to other mics for those use-cases.
I would recommend this as an upgrade from a mic like a yeti as it produces great sounds for conversations if you're looking to move into an XLR mic, if not the Yeti is also amazing for plug and play and works great too.

5,0 von 5 Sternen One of the top Microphone Combos. Pricey but good!
Bewertet in den USA am12. August 2013
First off, if you're going to do serious podcasting, or want the sound of a pro this is the mic for you. I've researched for a while which I always do before I make a purchase. This mic has a very professional look and tone to it. If you look up the Rode Procaster you'll see it is highly graded. Although you can buy a windscreen or pop filter you don't really need it. I love the whole combo to be honest. I recorded my voice through this mic and I sound as if I were a professional broadcaster. I can go on and on regarding the technical part of it, but what does it matter when the bottom line is you want good quality and a great sound. By far this is one of the top microphones. If you don't believe me look it up. I take reviews serious since it helps make someone determined the next purchase decision. It's a little costly but well worth it if you want quality. I recommend the Rode Procaster. Do your homework along with checking out the reviews. When you read reviews please weed out some of the reviews that just complain without a solid foundation for their grievances. You won't be disappointed. So enjoy... Hope this helped...

4,0 von 5 Sternen Nice bundle but boom clamp had poor fitment
Bewertet in den USA am12. März 2023
I researched microphones for many months before finally pulling the trigger on the Rode Procaster. It's everything I had hoped for. Extremely solid and rugged build for the mic itself. I paired mine with the FocusRite Solo and Dynamite inline pre amp. My choices were the Procaster vs the Shure SM7B. I chose the Rode because my voice is already deep and wanted a mic with a little more brightness so not to sound muddy. I was surprised I did favor the AIR setting on the FocusRite - without it the sound still sounded muddy to me - I assume because my natural tone is pretty deep.

Shock mount well made - does a great job suppressing shock and bumps.

I was slightly disappointed in the boom arm however. It does come with a clamp style base as well as a solid (drill to fit) base that has a nylon insert. The clamp base does not have a insert and the boom fits very sloppily - to the point extending or retracting the boom would leave you with an audible clunk. At least an 1/8 or 3/16" worth of slop. I emailed Rode to confirm if this is normal and they didn't really say one way or the other. I wrapped the boom pole (that inserts into the clamp) with electrical tape and its much better. Overall I feel the clamp design is sub par it either needs to be conical in shape vs cylindrical or have a nylon insert like the drill to fit mount - either of which would resolve this issue. The boom does move around without any noise from the springs - a huge plus.

Overall I'm quite happy with my purchase just be aware of this fitment issue while using the clamp style base.

5,0 von 5 Sternen Best Articulating Boom Arm In The Business!

If you are still deciding whether to purchase the RODE PSA1 Boom Arm, then your mind is about to be effectively decided and made-up for you...

This Boom arm is the top of its class, truly high-society here. RODE really went all out on this one, creating an extremely functional, versatile, dependable AND attractive boom arm with this design. I have had numerous different microphones attached to this Boom Arm, and it has easily and effectively supported them all. From the RODE Procaster, to the SHURE SM7B, this Boom Arm is truly capable of supporting them all, and without any give under their weight.

There are a couple of different ways of mounting the Boom Arm to your conference table, desk or podcast work station, making it an ideal choice for someone who may have to move their production area around from time to time. You can either choose to drill a hole through your table, which allows you to mount the Boom Arm in the CENTER of any desk or table, without having to have any cables running across your desk. You can also use the C-camp (included), and mount the Boom Arm on the side of your table or desk - without having to cut or damage your table/desk whatsoever! If you decide to mount it semi-permanently, using the center-mount option with drilling, then there is included a very attractive, stainless steel / Chrome style hole dressing which allows you to hide the drill hole.

The pivot joints in the arm are nicely covered with round plates at each joint. I like this feature because it sort of hides the mechanics of the arm, making it way less machine-like, and way more professionally - presentable. This Boom Arm also comes with a microphone adapter attachment, so that you can use just about ANY standard XLR - OR USB microphone with this arm. We use a lot of different Mics in our studio, and so far we have NEVER had to utilize a different Boom Arm just because of changing out Microphones.... No matter the Mic, this Boom Arm will accommodate your needs!

There is a reason why all of the big names use this specific Boom Arm.... J. Rogan, HodgeTwins, Ben Shaprio, and even The Podfather Show, they all either have used, or do currently use this exact Boom Arm.

5,0 von 5 Sternen Closest to an '80s made RE-20
Bewertet in den USA am22. Oktober 2020
My voice is deep for voice-over work. The Procaster has a proximity effect accentuating low frequencies like the beloved EV RE-20 that were made in the 1980s. The output of the mic is clean, clear, and detailed.
The construction of the Procaster is solid and hefty and it pairs perfectly with the counter-weighted arm and shockmount by Rode.
Add a clean preamp to run this mic and you're good to go for commercial work or home studio projects without spending a fortune.
