    Big and bulky? Yes. Rock solid and perfect putting your light exactly where you want it? Absolutely. This was my first C-stand and I'm crazy about it, I want more. It's heavy because it's so damn SOLID; toss some sandbags on this puppy and whatever light+modifier you're in the mood for and you're good to go. I appreciate the detachable base when I'm transporting it and the big rubber grips on the knobs are perfect. If you've never owned a C-stand and are trying to pick your first one, or you've been disappointed with other brands, this is the stand for you.

    This stand is no joke - compared to even the nicer high quality tripod stands this is a monster. Sets up very quick and all the knobs and whatnot are also high quality and machined very well. I took off one star because I got a metal splinter from the finish on the clamps. :(

    I love this product. It was exactly what I needed in my studio. The stand I had previously was very weak and caused me much stress. I photograph little girls who play around the studio and tend to bump into it. Now this stand holds up a lot better. If a girl mistakenly bumps into it I dont have to stress over my strobe hitting the floor. It is an amazing stand and I now have two! Well worth it and the price is great for a photographer with limited funds.

    One thing I cant find is wheels that will fit the stand. Is there a certain type that fits it? I would love to buy those in addition. I dont want to cause damage to my strobe because of constant lifting and placing.

    Excellent Avenger product. I like this especially since it can detach from the base. I've purchased three Avenger models, but this is the first with the detachable base, and the first time I got the chrome finish. I've been pleased with the Avenger c-stands over typical stands; these are durable, quality products, where I don't worry about a need to be gentle with them. They are heavy, as noted by another reviewer, but if you think they're heavy it probably means you've not been using professional quality c-stands.

    There's not much else to say other than it's a good c-stand, and fits in perfect with my boom mic needs for interviews.
