The third part of the book is titled "tool kit". It begins with a discussion of priorities. Tosca talks of collecting meaningful quotes, showing gratitude, and dealing with emotions. The next section is the recipe collection. Many of them look yummy and I look forward to trying them. They include frittatas, soups,fish, chicken and meat dishes, risotto, and even a couple of desserts. The final section has many useful forms such as a diet tracker, fitness tracker, and a diary to fill in. One of the most useful charts is the metric to US measurements converter. For those of us that like to use recipes from other countries, this is invaluable. All in all a good resource particularly if you are new to a healthy lifestyle. Others will find some inspiration and helpful hints.
What I like:
The workouts are do-able. She is using machines in many of the pictures, but gives options for doing at home. Clear instructions and the images are helpful.
The recipes are decent, without too many bizarre ingredients.
What I don't like:
In the beginning of the book, she talks about increasing calories to lose weight. However, after reading the entire book TWICE searching for specific calorie information, I realized she doesn't discuss it. AT ALL. A diet plan with no discussion of calories? A bit odd. Out of desperation, I finally saw the back page of helpful links and went to her website. It was there that (after searching her site for a while) found one sentence that says, "Calorie counting is not really a part of Eating Clean. I never count calories. We now realize that different foods react in different ways in our body. Whereas we may lose weight on 2000 calories per day of Clean food we may gain weight on 1600 calories per day of junk. Many, many people have messed up their metabolisms by worrying too much about calories and not enough about just getting good nutrition regularly throughout the day.

So NO Counting calories. Just follow her eating plan. It would have been nice if the book had mentioned that SOMEWHERE... She just skips that important piece of information.
Based on the fact that she puts so much importance on eating clean, it would have been nice to include more recipes. 30 recipes TOTAL just doesn't cut it.
Didn't care for the makeup tips. If I want makeup tips, I will go to the mall.
The book implies that it will give you the tools/"recipe" to get toned. But if you dont have a specific and daily plan, it isn't very useful. Monday: do these workouts, eat these types of food. Tuesday: rest day, these type of foods. Wednesday: these workouts, these types of foods.... THAT would have been a useful program!
Make no mistake, in order to have "your best body," it takes work and discipline. Depending on where you are on your journey, it isn't going to happen "now," or even next week. But everything you can do, every bit of information you can glean from reading this book is a building block to getting you to your goals. Tosca's been there- she's very honest about having been overweight, and she's honest about clean eating being a commitment. She's not selling snake oil here, where simply having this book and a strong enough desire is enough to get you "your best body now." She's giving you a manageable blueprint to get there, and she's encouraging and friendly along the way.
