Tom's tips are easy to understand and implement because they enhance activities you're already doing. He puts unique twists on common-sense approaches. This book is a great read for entrepreneurs eager to market their businesses with educational strategies. But a word of warning: Tom's strategies aren't the traditional tactics your competitors are used to seeing. So don't be surprised if some people criticize (and then copy) your marketing efforts. A very powerful marketing book sits in your hands -- use it to your advantage.

The 'You' Effect showcases simple, easy-to-implement ideas to make your marketing copywriting work harder. The writer's ability to think about a customers perspective ensures copy is always relevant to the reader and drives action. These are sound business rules that should be at the foundation of every marketing copywriter. I'll use this insight everyday at my business.

The first 70% of this book is valuable content - but the remaining 30% is filler-content. I appreciate the short summary at the end (that highlights the important points discussed in the book) but the imaginary interview with the twins could have been avoided - It's too long and the conversation drags.

This book is a good resource for entry-level copywriters (and even bloggers, marketing personnel and anyone else trying to grab the attention of their prospects by writing a copy) because it highlights certain vital points required to retain customer attention.

You can keep writing copy, but if you are not aware of certain basic principles that make the customers read it, enjoy it, believe it and open their wallet to take the credit card out, the copy is ineffective. The principles outlined in this book will help you write better copy that appeals to customers and benefits employers.

The author does a great job while discussing copywriting principles, but is not so good while discussing marketing principles. Why include them in the book, then? Did we ask you if we need to set up a blog, collect emails, do social networking updates, etc? There are many other books dedicated to these topics and most of them are CRAP.

I think the author should have stuck to his core expertise - copywriting, because his suggestions on this topic are good. Also, the author should try to follow this -
