As the Donovans stepped off the clipper onto the brick-lined streets of San Francisco, the wind held no hint that their lives were about to change forever.
After a devastating tragedy, Kaitlin, the oldest daughter, must face life in rugged California. Will the men of thisrestless country take advantage of her innocence? Will she recognize God's unexpected gift of love? Can she keep her family safe until her father returns?
Grief turns to triumph and innocence to maturity as Kaitlin lifts her heart to God for the strength to face: Whatever Tomorrow Brings.
I've never had a book that has made me cry like this before. I'm a true romantic at heart and I think that what happened between Kaitlin and Rigg is what almost every girl has imagined as their romance. Although its set in an old fashioned world the emotions are so true that I just had to cry- and the book wasnt even sad! I just LOVED it so much and its the first Christian book I've ever read! You should read this book if you are reading my comments right now. God bless.
I have read the Californians series twice and both times it captured my attention. I appreciated the unique plot and the historical details, and the series made me a fan of Lori Wick. However, as is the case, unfortunately, among much Christian fiction, all four books suffered from poor editing. Fortunately, this has been remedied in Wick's more recent work.
