Weicon Tools Cable Knife No. 4 - 28 hours.

The cable knife 4-28 H allows for precise, fast and safe stripping of all common round cables with a diameter between 4 and 28 mm. With the help of a adjusting screw at the end of the handle, the cutting depth of the cutting blade can be continuously regulated. This prevents damage to the inner conductor. The cutting blade is self-rotating integrated into the housing and thus allows the automatic switching from round to longitudinal cutting.

Die Klinge am oberen Ende ist extrem scharf und perfekt zum Abmanteln diverser Kabel geeignet. Das kleine Messer lässt sich präzise auf die Dicke des Mantels einstellen, 2-3 Umdrehungen und der Kabelmantel lässt sich knicken und abziehen. Alles in Allem ein perfektes Tool, was in keinem Elektro-Werkzeugkoffer fehlen sollte!

    An sich funktioniert das Werkzeug, aber es könnte wirklich besser sein. Am Werkzeug ist eine dreieckige Klinge, die zu mindestens zwei Seiten scharf ist. Das Problem bei dem Werkzeug ist aber, dass beim Herausfahren der Klinge sich diese auch noch dreht. Bei der benötigten Länge der Klinge kann es dann aber sein, dass die Klinge so schief steht, dass beim Drehen des Werkzeugs die Klinge einfach nur am Mantel spiralförmig entlang fährt, ein gerader Schnitt gelingt fast nie. Dadurch lässt sich der angeschnittene Mantel auch nicht einfach abziehen.
    Weil das Abmanteln in der Kreisbewegung also nicht funktioniert, muss der Mantel gezwungenermaßen auch längs eingeritzt werden. Hierdurch ist natürlich das Risiko gleich höher irgendwo einen Mantel der innenliegenden Kabel zu beschädigen.

    Toll wäre das Werkzeug, wenn die Klinge immer gerade zum Mantel steht und nur weiter rein oder raus fahren würde. So finde ich es eher mittelmäßig.

    i used one of these 20 years ago made by ideal. it was a good tool but often broke the blade and was hard to adjust correctly. I use this everyday on everything from 3c to 19c .
