This book is an interesting take on vegan life. The author is not a dietician or a chef so it is more a biography than anything. In saying that I thought that the recipes and philosophy made sense and there were some interesting suggestions for vegan food. The author makes many claims in the text that something 'may cause cancer' or 'has been linked to...' I found these to be annoying because again, it was the author's perception not supported by evidence or fact. I adjusted some of the recipes, there is a large amount of olive oil being used in some, but this is true for all recipes in any recipe book. Photographs are nice, out and about in Berlin, and it is indexed well into levels of food, level 1 for the morning, level 2 and 3 for the afternoon, but if weight loss is your goal, no level 3 after lunch. This makes sense as level 3 have higher carb contents. A few recipes require the use of the Spiralschneider Lurch 10203 Spiralschneider Spirali grün / creme which means you should order this too! Favourite recipes include the amaranth berry breakfast and the vegan lasange and pasta. The biggest winner from this book is the use of zuchinni in place of pasta, the calorie count is much lower in zuchinni. Overall, an ok book with some interesting reading. Buying this in English while living in Germany meant that some of the ingredients didn't translate perfectly, but our local health store helped to clarify.

..., weil es eine große Vielfalt an Rezepten bietet und durch die tollen Fotos und Variationen große Lust auf vegane Ernährung macht. Es hat mir den Einstieg vor einem Jahr sehr erleichtert.
Leider fallen wiederum einige Rezepte heraus, weil sie wegen der massenhaften Verwendung von Mandelmus und Co. sehr kostspielig sind.
- Hat jemand einen Tipp, womit sich dieses ersetzen lässt?

I totally love the recipes in this book! the ingredients are very common and familiar in comparison with some other vegan books. We've already tried 30% of the recipes in the book and were not at all disappointed. Highly recommended for those who are looking for something new to try in their vegan diet.

I like the book. Nice recipes, beautiful pictures. Just don't like the fact that almost everything is done with tofu. Not a lot against it but i would not cook it everyday for myself and my family. Apart from that the recipes are delicious!
