      Irgendwie nicht das, was man von Reckless Love gewohnt ist. Klang für mich stellenweise wie ein "Modern Talking" Album - total poppig. Würde es nicht wieder kaufen.

      5. Studioalbum - 25. März 2022 - 10 Songs + 1 Intro auf 35:10 Minuten - Produzent: Joonas Synthinen

      Mit dem letzten Album InVader(2016) hatte man diesen 80er-Synthie-Pop-Sound ja bereits angedeutet und auf Turborider nun gnadenlos vollendet. Kennt noch jemand den alten Commodore 64-Computer und die zugehörigen Computerspiele? - Genauso so hört sich dieses Album an, vermischt mit kultigen Disco-Pop-Sounds, Sänger Olli Herman klingt alleine nach Boyband(Backstreet Boys?) - das Ganze hört sich nach Kindergeburtstag eines 10 - 12-jährigen an, der einen auf obercool machen will. Fröhliche sommerliche Gute Laune garantiert, die Instrumente(Gitarren???) klingen allesamt nach Computer, der Gesang nach Boygroup, vom eigentlichen Genre Hardrock / Heavy Metal bleibt nicht viel übrig. Für Leute, die die 80er-Jahre wieder aufleben lassen wollen sicherlich "DER" Soundtrack dafür, für Leute die einfach nur ein schönes (Glam-)Rock-Album erwarten, ist dies etwas ernüchternd und am Ziel vorbeigeschossen. Auch auf den ersten 3 Alben hatte man immer mal wieder Synthie-Sounds eingebaut, z.B. in "HOT", aber jetzt geht man wirklich voll in diesem auf Radio-Hit getrimmten "Plastik-Kitsch" auf, vielleicht möchte man eine neue musikalische Nische besetzen.

      Musikalisch sind die ersten 5 Songs bis zum Osbourne-Cover "Bark at the Moon" ganz nett anzuhören, weil alles extrem eingängig auf HIT! getrimmt ist - der zweite Teil wird dann etwas nervig und ist musikalisch recht belanglos. Das Osbourne-Cover "Bark at the Moon" ist übrigens der härteste Song der Scheibe. Ich bin ehrlich gesagt ein wenig schockiert von diesem Album, wobei es auch einen gewissen Reiz versprüht.

      To start off, I love the first 3 albums from this band and only like a few songs on invader. I've been listening to these guys for years, my initial opinion of their first couple of singles from this album wasn't good, but some albums I find take a couple of listens to really click so I gave them a couple more listens and then I found I really liked the songs. If you're looking for a return to their old sound then this one isn't your album, however you'll find elements of their old sound combined with the 80s style synth wave which is the defining sound of this album. It doesn't come off as an experiment like invader did in my opinion, Turborider sounds like the band has been doing this style for a long time and really fused it perfectly with the hard rock playing they are known for. This is very much a reckless love album, good music for good times, it's just not a traditional reckless love album. Amid the synths and electronic drum kit sounds is fantastic guitar playing with gorgeous tone, I honestly feel the balance between the guitars and synths is done exceptionally well. Olli hasn't lost any of his vocal range and sounds fantastic. The songs flow really well with each other from start to finish. I've seen a lot of mixed things about the cover of bark at the moon by ozzy Osbourne, honestly I think it's a mostly faithful rendition that does it justice. It stays true enough to the original but brings in the synths and electronic drums. I'm not going to go into a track by track review but I highly recommend this album, if you can get past the fact that it isn't animal attraction part 2 and go into it with an open mind you'll find a fantastic album that still maintains the vibe of the band, Turborider is a really fun album that might be one of their best.
