I have never read a book on the subject of fasting before. To be quite honest I was not even interested in the subject, as I was brought up in an religious group to whom fasting was practiced & I had no desire to go there.

The only reason I had a sample sent to my Kindle was because I respect this Author and his writings on The Secret Teachings of Plants. Once I read the sample I just had to purchase the book to get the rest of the story, it was all to fascinating. Who knew that this is what fasting is about and what its capable of doing within you?

The Author has brought honor to the art of fasting, his guidance and knowledge is inspirational and I certainly intend to take a journey on the road of fasting. He has changed my view on the subject completely.

Whilst reading this book I found myself experiencing the most profound inner changes that I have no words to explain, so I am not going to do injustice to my experience in trying to find the words.

I am truly grateful to Stephen Buhner ~ thank you!

I have a good amount of fasting books, but I never could get all the information I wanted. I have done juice fasts and they are hassle. I'm a single undisciplined male and don't like constantly cleaning kitchen surfaces and juicers. Or
going to the store and getting veggies 2-3 times a week. This can be expensive for people. So I'm drinking veg juice during the day and carry a cooler in my car and feeling hungry all the time. (He also explained the reason for this) Now.. WATER FASTING ... I prep my body a week with veggies then start. For me what could be easier. wake up then drink water only for long as I can (7 days plus) and try to relax as much as possible. He explains everything very nicely for me, what happens to your body, that the hunger goes away after your body burns up all the glucose in a fews days then goes into Ketosis and starts burning stored fat. I started thinking a few years ago that primitive man did not have modern medicine but still survived. I think there is a simple recipe for life. Eat unprocessed foods, drink clean water, get some sunshine for Vitamin D, then GET OUT OF THE WAY and let our bodies do what it knows how to do. We did not come into this world with a juicer, but apples grow on trees, sunshine is free and medicinal herbs grow wild in nature.

I was looking for a book on fasting that described all the benefits and thta would be realistic for someone to follow.
I trusted the author knowldege on the subject since I already own 2 of his books.
This book is not for those who never fasted before. I already practice fasting as a way of life but I was interested to do it for longer period of time.
So far I have not done the week fasting or the master cleanse described in the book.
The author highlghts reasons and different type of fasting and gives guidelines of how they should be undertaken.
A must read for those who are interested in detoxing in a natural way or who would like to experiment with their will power while gaining spiritual and health benefits.

As an avid faster this book is excellent. I purchased it a few your back and have used it multiple times as a guide for each of my fasts. Mr. Buhner walks you through the before, during and after of the fast. He focuses on all three aspects of the fast (the emotional, spiritual and physical) and how each aspect of the fast affects the other. The book provides a holistic approach to fasting. If you are looking for only for the fasting for weight loss or to help heal a disease I would recommend Dr. Jason Fung's book "The Complete Guide to Fasting" which only forces on the physiological effects of fasting. The Transformational Power of Fasting is by far the best book I have read on fasting and each time I read it I learn something new.

Mr. Buhner does have a way with words! Never hurts to obtain more research material. Get yourself a copy and see what you can learn! I do like the way he addresses the spiritual aspects of healing and he is totally correct in his philosophy. I've been in the health improvement field for years and I still run across information that I can apply in order to help others. I have many of Mr. Buhners books and all are extremely helpful. This has information that, when applied correctly, will help a person to take control of their health as well as their lives.
