      Years ago I had this CD by Dekapitator back when they were on a smaller label and sorry to say I lost it when I moved.But since Relapse picked up this thrash metal band with the 'Storm Before The Calm' album this debut was re-released and sounds nice and crisp.I'm not going to name particular songs to recommend because you like what you like....but all of the songs are very good.The drum work brings on the speed,the guitars have groove and bring on the fury,and the vocal work is authorative with group shouts...and yes they are some sweet solos on this album!Other than that Dekapitator was a thrash side-project by members of the goregrind outfit Exhumed in the late 90's and at the time it was a overlooked genre but it's good to see Dekapitator stills exists and has that original old-school metal sound that never gets outdated.So on that note Dekapitator was one of the footsteps the path to the revival of thrash metal.

      Dekapitator's Persona:
      There is a war element to Dekapitator that reminds me of Bolt Thrower or Sodom in certain ways,not in playing style or sound...but the song titles do have that 'divide and conquer' perspective and it fits their sound.I think the artwork for 'We Will Destroy You Will Obey" accurately depicts the overall album:A human war machine blasting a heavy machine gun and weilding a morning star possibly taking on a thousand soldiers,and from the energy and aggression displayed in the albumm...most likely he'll win the battle(Dekapitator's trademark character).

      Overall I was very pleased to obtain this album again,I really liked the second album by Dekapitator but 'We Will Destroy,You Will Obey' was a classic among the list of really good thrash albums you just can't do without.

      Originalmente concebido por miembros de la banda de Grindcore, Exhumed, como un proyecto para patear la entrepierna de las bandas de Metal "modernas" y crear el mejor Thrash Metal desde los tiempos del verdadero Old School (los años 80's), Dekapitator grabaron este, su primer álbum en 1999.

      Su sonido abarca el espectro del género, básicamente serían catalogados como un ente Death/Thrash/Speed Metal. Canciones como "Thundering Legions", "Attack With Mayhem", "Hell's Metal" o "T.F.S. (Total Fu***ng Slaughter)" harán las delicias de todo Thrasher en busca de emociones fuertes. Fácilmente digerible y para disfrutarse con unas buenas cervezas y los amigos. Está re-edición de parte de Relapse Records, incluye como Bonus Tracks la versión alternativa de "Hell's Metal" incluida en la compilación "Thrashing Holocaust" lanzada por Necropolis Records, y los 3 tracks incluidos en el Split EP con NunSlaughter, "Blood On Steel".

      El booklet incluye la historia de la banda y liner notes de parte de Matt Hellfiend, así como las letras de las canciones y los datos de la producción. ¡Calificación de 5 estrellas muy bien merecidas!

      Recomendable al 666 % para todos los Thrashers y Headbangers que deseen conocer bandas de calidad.

      Musically this reminds me of early Destruction, Venom, Whiplash and Razor.

      Its good stuff though hardly original in the lyrical or music front.

      It is however a great piece of balls out raw thrash metal. I bet they are amazing live!

      I hate marking music down and its more 3 1/2 than a 3.

      Why am I marking it down? I hate the production on it. I read that others love it as it sounds raw. Its all down to personal taste I guess.

      Personally I think it sounds like somebody recorded them on a cassette player in a studio, or they are playing in a cellar.

      Its a real shame as James Murphy produced this hence it should have been amazing, with his studio experience.

      But hey its only my humble opinion. If you like all out Old Skool Thrash with a raw sound this is for you.
