Kurzbeschreibung

On Amelia Island, Florida, 36-year-old journalist Fawn Cortez is adjusting to life in her new surroundings as she prepares for her upcoming marriage. Her father’s tragic death earlier in the year still haunts her. For decades, Juan Velarde Cortez obsessively hunted a legendary treasure, and his passing has left unresolved feelings for Fawn. Now, when a series of grisly killings rock the small island community—each victim’s face has a distinct signature—Fawn suspects a bizarre connection between the murders, her father’s quest, and the death ritual of an infamous Seminole Indian from the 1800s. A cigar box that once belonged to her father appears to hold the key. As Fawn draws closer and closer to solving the 200-year-old puzzle and determining the killer’s identity, she will be forced to unravel historical clues that will lead her on a harrowing journey. Time is quickly running out as a serial killer is watching and waiting in the shadows. Will Fawn discover the truth before she becomes the next victim? With historical links and storyline twists, this follow-up to Gary Williams’ & Vicky Knerly’s debut novel, Death in the Beginning, engages all the necessary elements of and delivers a fast-paced, heart-pounding thriller.

This is a new release of a previously published edition.

HASH(0x8c7ab1a4) von 5 Sternen Could not put it down.... 29. Mai 2012

If I'm being honest, there are many books that I pick up and never finish. This was not one of those books. Truth be known, Three Keys to Murder was so much fun that I "inhaled" it in a single sun up to sun down sitting. My kids went without breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My husband went without the house being cleaned, the laundry being done, and a couple of other things I will not mention here.... The kids did not starve, the husband survived, and I was completely and totally entertained for an entire day by this book. This is historical fiction at it's finest. I loved the fact that it was based in my old stomping grounds of Nassau, Duval, and St. Johns counties in Florida. The fact it also pulled from my heritage in Cedar Key on the West coast of Florida was an added bonus. I remember my Grandmother telling me stories of the old Indian mounds where she and her friends would dig up artifacts from back in the day. If you live in NE Florida and do not read this book you are missing out! It makes me want to go back to all the historical places the book references, that I have visited many, many times as a child and never gave my undivided attention to. The story itself is a "keep you on the edge of your seat" thriller, that has you guessing up the very end. I pride myself in being able to guess what is coming in a story and this ending caught me completely off guard. Do yourself a favor and download this book! You will not be sorry you did.

HASH(0x8cacddb0) von 5 Sternen Too Many Keys 17. September 2015

If you like reading history books then you will like this one. In fact some of the book's language reads like a history book. The authors must have done extensive research to produce this tome, but I had to wade through a lot of stories that led to other stories, and frankly I got lost during some of them. The tortoise head and the third key are but two of the side streets which include the presidency of John Adams. Fawn, the lead character, displays Raiders-of-the-Lost-Ark capabilities, dressing in black and chiseling bricks from a lighthouse, finding an unknown secret room in a national monument, and deciphering (with a scholar's help) writing on a wall that no one had been able to figure out in 175 years. Yet, when something is stolen from her house without a break-in she doesn't stop to consider who might have had ready access. Even in the beginning she and Mike do not seem like an engaged couple, and I thought she showed little regard for the death of her friend Lisa - whom Fawn had involved. Finally I would say that Fawn's menses were a
bit farfetched part of the book. Honestly, I thought the book was over several times before it actually was - and I breathed a sigh of relief. Cudos to the authors for so much detail, and razzes to the authors for so much detail.

HASH(0x8cacdd80) von 5 Sternen A MUST READ. 4. August 2015

Honestly. it took me several tries to get into this book, I'd read a few chapters then go read another book. Once I reached about Chapter 20 (short chapters), I almost gave up, the story really peaked my interest. This book is a unique blend of fact and fiction. At times the book seemed a little
too wordy, too many repeated facts. However, the pace picks up so fast that those repeated facts help you keep on track with the who's who, and who did what. Great read, finally couldn't put it down.

I am in love with all of Gary Williams and Vicky Knerly's books. After I read the first book in the God Tools, I went mad, buying up every book they have ever written. Not a bad book anywhere! And Bonus, She may have been a supporting character in the God Tools series, but she is THE character in Three Keys. I recommend you buy every single book they have written. Cannot go wrong !
