    Sehr gute Antenne

    Sehr gute Antenne

Great reception, but not a factor greater then other, less sizeable antennas.
A 9dBi antenna of approx. 20 cm gave 80% of the result of this one.

Since this is so large, I'd only recommend it when you really need this last 20% of signal.

Don't forget to buy the pigtail adapter to sma.

It is an antenna and it is doing its job quite well.
I have used it for many years and it even survived a house fire, the metal got slightly damaged but I am still using it outside now and getting good internet signal with it.
I have connected it to my internet box and use it to reach a tower quite far away. (a few kilometers) works great but it needs to be set really precise. Don't get surprised if the speed drops a lot just by having it a bit off.
I have also used it to connect to a wifi 500m away (through a hill), even that worked somehow.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works exceptionally well for me. I have a great setup

I bought this antenna to see if it would provide at least a decent enough connection with campground hotspots. I paired this with some good WiFi (n male to n female?) cable and a Alfa AWUSO36NH High Gain USB Wireless G / N Long-Rang WiFi Network Adapter, and I have been very pleased with this set up.

At one campground I was about 125 yards from their router which was inside of their building. Couldn’t connect with my laptop, but had full signals with the antenna propped on a picnic table and pointed towards the office.

At a campground in Tok, Alaska, I was quite a distance (about 250 yards?) from their router, and was told that there was no internet signal in my section. I sat up the antenna on the ground, pointed it towards where I thought the office was, and got a decent enough signal through many rows of trees and through other campers. If I had the antenna higher I’m sure I could have streamed video. I told the manager the next morning that I was able to connect. She was surprised and asked how. I just said that I had a directional antenna 😉.

Another time, in Canada, a campground had a very, very, weak signal from only about 30 yards away. I put the antenna on top of my travel trailer’s slide out, aimed it towards the office, and had a full signal. I watched a NetFlix movie that night.

I’ve even used the antenna with it sitting inside on my camper table, pointed at a campground office or a Walmart, and had excellent results.

There are many more examples, but one final example is a test I did before taking the antenna out on the road. I lived in a mobile home park by a bay and was the 3rd lot from the water. Across a small section of the bay is a peninsula with a city park. I went there and hooked up the antenna, aimed it towards where I thought my mobile home was (about 300 yards away), and, across the water, and through some mobile homes, I was able to connect to my router That was inside my mobile home and I was able to stream video.

So... I’ve had very good luck with this antenna, and I would buy it again. Things I don’t like is that it’s large and bulky. But that’s why it’s so damn good. When it comes to antennas, size matters. As does the antenna gain, which this one is 24 dbi. And use the best and shortest amount of cable you can get and afford; you get what you pay for here. You’ll also need a network adapter, and I highly recommend an Alfa AWUSO36NH High Gain USB Wireless G / N Long-Rang WiFi Network Adapter. Don’t forget to purchase a cable adapter for connecting your WiFi cable to the network adapter. I’m looking to devise a mast for the antenna for traveling, and/or a tripod.

Nice unit, and it holds it self after a year of service 45 feet in the air in the cold and hot Canadian weather.
For distance...well any common since dude guy knows WI-fi will only travel max a block are two so don't hope to get 2 mile range Even with alfa 2 watts amp. Im able to view tons of hot spots with this Sat but getting any speed on wi-fi more then a block away...good lucky. Not so much because of the antenna it self but because of the wi-fi.limits. For me this would makes the best antenna i could buy for my money, compare to others. Remember its a good size and its made to be outdoors. If you want antennas to work proper write to your local MP or governor to let average joes higher watts of power limits for public use...have fun with internet providers...
