5.0 von 5 Sternen SKOLD is back! 1. Juni 2011
Von J. Baars - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD Verifizierter Kauf
While I appreciated Tim Skold more for his work with KMFDM than I did is Shotgun Messiah, Marilyn Manson, or solo stuff, this EP is definitely good music. The tracks feature more sampling than I am used to hearing for Skold tunes and remixes, but if you are a fan, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

Can't wait for the new album Anomie, out on June 3rd!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Just A Teaser... 12. April 2011
Von Gerry Hathaway - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This EP marks the return of Tim Skold's solo work since his "unreleased" Dead God singles leaked online back in 2002. The material on here is very much in the same vein as the Dead God tracks, and less like his self-titled album from 1996. The single Suck is everything you would expect from a Skold industrial rock anthem and believe me it rocks hard. I will not rate the remixes because I haven't listened to them.

I bought this single for the three previously released singles, Dark Star, Bullets Ricochet, and I Will Not Forget. These tracks were first available for download in November 2009, and then disappeared. They were rumored to be on the new record Anomie, but this is not the case. However, these tracks are just as essential as the Dead God tracks and I'm glad they are seeing release on a single format. I Will not Forget is a scathing track with buzzsaw guitars, fast and tight solos and a big improvement on the production values of his prior work. Dark Star is slow and haunting but still heavy. Bullets Ricochet is the most catchy of the three and hits hard towards the end.

Though I love what he did with KMFDM and Manson, I think Skold works best on his own. This is HIS sound and if you like dark and heavy rock n roll, straight forward with some industrial elements then you need this. Cannot wait for Anomie to be released.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Try a little more then try a little harder 12. April 2011
Von M.A.Black Feather - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

It's been 15 years since the audience has heard a SKOLD album. He hasn't been hibernating however, quite the opposite in fact! Instead of saying what has been said a million times before, i'll keep things short and say "What are you doing reading this? Purchase button is on the right!"

This single is packed with enough material to tide the fans over until "Anomie" hits the world on May 10th. The song "Suck" is incredible and infectious beyond belief. The remixes serve as a nice supplement to the single. The extras "I Will Not Forget", "A Dark Star" and "Bullets Ricochet" were released in 2009 and are THE reason to buy this entire single. They sound heavier than other Tim Skold songs but are well crafted and much appreciated.

Whenever a band releases a single with an extra song or two, it's usually because they were b-sides and weren't up to snuff for the main album. This is NOT the case with Skold. Musicians take note: THIS is how you release a single!

SKOLD .... Also in KMFDM, MDFMK, OHGR, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, and MARILYN MANSON. Great industrial metal for fans of MINISTRY, SKINNY PUPPY, PUSCIFER, and MORTIIS.
