I really enjoyed this book and how Chase Brown puts it all together. He explains why strength is necessary for life overall and how it improves your health and makes your life better. I appreciated how he included that you need to plan for all aspects, such as what you eat, what your workout plan is, etc. He not only included strength training but how to lose body fat as well. He makes a great outline on how to achieve overall success in your strength training routine, instead of just going to the gym and guessing at it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is kind of floundering at the gym but doesn't want to hire a personal trainer.

This book is extremely useful for anyone who wants to strengthen their body, but has no idea how to start. Chase Brown takes you step by step and explains the various aspects of strength training and what it all means. The short chapters and catchy phrases make this a quick, but valuable read. Instead of feeling lost and slightly confused during your trips to the gym, you can stride in with confidence after reading this book.

This reads like a book written by a 10 year old. There is absolutely no concrete information in it. Typos etc. Surprised such a product is carried by Amazon. Tsk tsk. Save your money. Get the book by Jill RIPLEY instead. Short and sweet but real information and good information by a professional instead of an enthusiast. Or spring for more money and get Jackie Warner, this is why you're fat.

I found it rather vague, perhaps I was expecting too much - like diagrams on how to. Instead it was more of the rationale behind the benefits of strength training and encouragement not to give up. Were this a book in the store I would have left it on the shelf. I like diagrams and how to perform exercises.

I really wanted to try strength training but I really had no idea how to start, so I bought this book, and I'm really glad I did. it broke it down step by step, explained how strength training works and was so easy to understand. great book, highly recommended!
